The 2015 AFC Beach Soccer Championship is a beach soccer tournament scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar on 23–28 March 2015.[1] The tournament will serve as the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifier for teams from the AFC, where the two finalists and the winner of the third place match will qualify for the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Portugal.

This will be the second consecutive time that the Beach Soccer World Cup qualifiers are held in Doha. All matches will be played at the Katara Beach.

Participating teams and draw

The following 15 teams entered the tournament.[2]

The draw of the tournament was held on 18 February 2015 at Doha.[2] The 15 teams were drawn into three groups of four teams and one group of three teams.

Group stage

Each team earns three points for a win in regulation time, two points for a win in extra time, one point for a win in a penalty shoot-out, and no points for a defeat. The winners and runners-up of each group advance to the knockout stage. The teams will be ranked according to points obtained in all group matches. If two or more teams are tied in points, the following criteria will be applied:[3]

  • Points obtained in head-to-head matches;
  • Goal difference in head-to-head matches;
  • Goals scored in head-to-head matches;
  • Total goal difference;
  • Total goals scored;
  • Drawing of lots.
