Darien Dash (born July 21, 1992), better known by his stage name, Dash (stylized as Da$H) is an American rapper from Hackensack, New Jersey and is best known as a member of the hip hop collective A$AP Mob. He is currently the only member of the group that doesn't have the A$AP moniker in his name.

Life and career

He is also the nephew of Jay Z's former manager Damon Dash.[1] Da$h started rapping around the age of sixteen and uploaded music on MySpace with his friends for fun. He then decided he wanted to take rapping seriously and joined the A$AP Mob. He appeared on the groups compilation mixtape, Lord$ Never Worry released on August 28, 2012. He is also a member of The Heirs which stands for High Everyday Ignoring Rules and is signed to Damon Dash's label DD172 and Jay Z's Roc-A-Fella Records. He frequently collaborates with fellow New Jersey-based rapper RetcH and record producer Mordecai Beats with whom he released the mixtape La Cienega in 2012. He has collaborated with many other artists including Action Bronson, Earl Sweatshirt, Boldy James, Vince Staples, Trademark Da Skydiver, Mac Miller and A$ton Matthews.

In 2013, Dash released his critically acclaimed mixtape V.I.C.E.S. [2][3] with features from Action Bronson, Vince Staples, and ASAP Mob members ASAP Nast and ASAP Ferg, and more, with production from Larry Fisherman, Randomblackdude, Thelonious Martin, and more. His latest release was a two track EP called, That Time We Smoked Dust with RetcH that was released on May 6, 2014.[4] In 2014, in an interview with New York music magazine The Fader, Odd Future rapper Earl Sweatshirt said that Da$H was staying at his apartment in Los Angeles, and that they were working on music together.[5] Earl had previously produced the track 'Whalé' [6] off of Da$H's V.I.C.E.S mixtape, as well as appearing with him on Mac Miller's track, 'New Faces V2'.

Influences

Growing up his musical influences were Mobb Deep, Method Man, Beanie Sigel, and AZ.[7]
