A new unnamed UNSC Chairman of the Oversight Subcommittee receives a recorded message from Epsilon Church. Church explains that the message contains documents and video files of the treasonous acts committed by the new chairman's predecessor Malcolm Hargrove and his mercenaries as well as the actions of the Reds and Blues and the people of Chorus. Church apologizes for sounding over dramatic, as he explains that this is a story of how he died.

Prologue

  • Time: 12:06

A UNSC prisoner ship Tartarus flies by a stranded pelican and brings in aboard. The soldiers soon encounter Felix who appears to be alone. After drawing the Tartarus captain and three soldiers into a false sense of security, Felix reveals he's going to kill them and take the ship, which he does with ease. The pelican Felix came in is actually filled with Locus and several mercenaries that were cloaked. After taking over the ship, Locus and Felix over the ship's intercom tells the prisoners that they and the mercenaries are at war and that they need recruits who are willing to fight, kill and take orders from them. Felix tells the prisoners who want to join them to hold onto their prison cell's bars, which afterwards Felix hits a airlock button, sucking those who won't join out into space. Shortly after, Locus and Felix are approached by one of the prisoners named Aiden Price, who is revealed to be the former Counselor of Project Freelancer. Price tells the mercenaries that he knows more information about Project Freelancer than what the mercenaries already know, including personal knowledge on Wash and Carolina. Price also tells Locus and Felix that there is another prisoner that has worked with the former Freelancers before.
