Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute is a film institute in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The institute was established in 1995, and was named after the acckaimd film director Satyajit Ray.

Administration

The institute is an autonomous society with a Governing Council, Standing Finance Committee and an Academic Council.The institute is under the Ministry of Information and Broadcastingrun of the Government of India. It has the following departments:

  • The Department of Direction & Screenplay Writing
  • The Department of Sound Recording
  • The Department of Editing
  • The Department of Motion Picture Photography

Also the institute has the following facilities:

  • Film & TV Studio
  • Library
  • Film Library
  • Regional Centre of the National Film Archive
  • Auditorium & Screening Facilities
