Rajput Politics has a big role in Indian politics. The Rajput vote bank is important for every party.[1][2] In Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, West Gujarat etc., states that have large populations of Rajputs in the state and major role in state or national politics.[3][4][5]

Rajput chief minister

There are currently three Rajput chief ministers in India. They are:

  • Virbhadra Singh - Virbhadra Singh is the current chief minister of Himachal Pradesh. He belongs to a Bushahr royal Rajput family from Himachal.[6]
  • Harish Rawat - Harish Singh Rawat is present chief minister of Uttrakhand.[7]
  • Raman Singh - Raman Singh is present chief minister of Chhattisgarh.[8]

Rajput ministers

In the current Indian Cabinet, there are a total of eight Rajput ministers. They all come from different parts of India: Rajnath Singh (Uttar Pradesh); Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati (Andhra Pradesh); Narendra Singh Tomar (Madhya Pradesh); Radha Mohan Singh (Bihar); Jitendra Singh (Jammu and Kashmir); Rajiv Pratap Singh Rudy (Bihar); Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (Rajasthan); and, Vijay Kumar Singh (Haryana).[9][10][11]

  • Rajnath Singh - Rajnath Singh is Minister of Home Affairs in the Indian government. He is from Uttar Pradesh.
  • Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati - Ashok Gajapathi is Minister of Civil Aviation in the Indian government.
  • Narendra Singh Tomar - Narendra Singh Tomar is Minister of Mines Minister of Steel in the Indian government.
  • Radha Mohan Singh - Radha Mohan Singh is Minister of Agriculture in the Indian government.
  • Jitendra Singh - Jitendra Singh Minister of Development of North Eastern Region, Prime Minister's Office, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space in the Indian government.
  • Rajiv Pratap Rudy - Rajiv Rudi is Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship,Parliamentary Affairs in the Indian government.
  • Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore - Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is Minister of Information & Broadcasting in the Indian government.
  • Vijay Kumar Singh - V.K. Singh is Mininter of Statistics and Programme Implementation, External Affairs, Overseas Indian Affairs in the Indian government.
