Perle Systems is a developer, manufacturer and vendor of serial connectivity products claimed to be of high-reliability and richly featured.

Perle Systems products are intended to connect remote users reliably and securely to central servers for a wide variety of business applications.

Product lines include terminal servers, device servers, console servers, serial cards, USB to serial adapters and remote access products.

Perle has offices and representative offices in 11 countries in North America, Europe and Asia and sells its products through distribution and OEM/ODE channels worldwide.

The engineering offices of Perle Systems are located in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

Acquisitions

Chase Research was a UK based company providing network connectivity and remote access products for communications between PCs/servers and peripheral devices, particularly in the Linux space. Perle Systems acquired Chase Research in the year 2000.

On April 1, 2002, Perle Systems's common shares were delisted from the Nasdaq Stock Market and became eligible to trade on the Over The Counter Bulletin Board ("OTCBB").

On October 7, 2003, the company went private under a deal with its major creditor, Royal Capital Management Inc.
