I think that your recent edit to Wikipedia:Disambiguation discussion of primary topic does not catch the exact meaning of the existing discussion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Pietermaritzburg railway station
Why did you Pietermaritzburg railway station to Pietermaritzburg train station with a comment of "reverting sockpuppet", when the article has never before been at the title Pietermaritzburg train station? How can you be "reverting" a move when you move the article to a title it has never had before? Similarly, how in this edit can you claim to be undoing John Snow II's edit? He just wikilinked railway station which was already there; then in your supposed "undo" you changed "railway station" to "train station". Please explain. - htonl (talk) 10:14, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
- Htonl, it was an error, and I apologize. I was doing a mass reversion of hundreds of counter-to-policy multi-account edits by one person, and I was a bit too zealous on that one. I highly appreciate you reverting and politely bringing it to my attention. Thank you. Red Slash 20:36, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
Etruscan civilization
Hi - reverted you as the article uses British English - have you read WP:ENGVAR? Dougweller (talk) 12:09, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
- Give me a moment to look into it, Dougweller; I may have reverted a known abuser of WP:SOCK in error. (Even sockpuppets, like stopped clocks, are right twice a day). Let me research it. Red Slash 20:14, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
- Well, the article has used the "zation" spelling since its formation, so I would at gunpoint have to say it's probably originally in American English. Red Slash 20:24, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
- kicking myself as I almost mentioned that. No, the 'z' is an alternative BritEng spelling, see Oxford spelling. I see editors make this mistake frequently. I'm a dual national by the way, from Miami but living in the UK. Dougweller (talk) 04:53, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Proposal with teeth
Something tells me this is going nowhere. The biters do not want a process with teeth to bite back. I am about ready to give up. Sad, because I really think the hostile reception at New Page Patrol, and to a lesser extent at Articles for Creation, is the main reason for so few new editors. Aymatth2 (talk) 19:16, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- Indeed, Aymatth2. We need some way of knowing whether or not an edit has been made by a newbie, and then we need to be gentler with them. I started a long time ago, when I could see the direct impact my edits were having online; without that feedback, I don't know how anyone gets involved with WP Red Slash 19:30, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
Since you are obviously interested in this matter, would you like to help draft the proposal, at Talk:Hillary Rodham Clinton/April 2015 move request? Some things that you have said in the various discussions so far about the absence of a consensus to have this title in the first place would be useful to have there. Cheers! bd2412 T 19:31, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

April 2015
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Billion, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. RM?
I noticed that you recently moved the page Military intervention against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant to Military intervention against ISIL and listed RM as the reason why. I am wondering where this requested move you cited is because there isn't one on the article talk page. - SantiLak (talk) 03:53, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Your closure of RM
Your recent closure of the RM relating to ISIL was entirely inappropriate. There was no consensus on the page and policy was not strongly in favour of move which is what you have stated and which is simply your opinion. You should have joined the discussion to express such an opinion, rather than closing the review. For more information see WP:RMNAC. Please revert the moves. Should you decide that that is not possible, a move review will be submitted. Regards. Mbcap (talk) 07:33, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
- I'll stand behind that closure, Mbcap, though a move review is absolutely on the table for you. I'll explain in depth why I made the decision that I did, and why I'm pretty sure there indeed was a policy-based consensus to move.
- First, two policies are important here: WP:CONCISE and WP:CONSISTENT. Nobody seriously disagreed that WP:CONCISE applies; a policy being 100% applicable is typically a killer argument in a move request unless another policy can be shown to be in conflict with it. Therefore, the opposers would've needed to give some policy-backed reason, and they pretty much all appealed to WP:CONSISTENT. Did it apply, though? Is the ISIL title really less consistent? No fewer than nine different titles with ISIL in their name were cited by the proposer. The main article, of course, is not located at ISIL, which is a strong argument against the requested move. But given that, again, nine different articles are at ISIL (now 13), it's hardly inconsistent to have them there. The usage of America and AAA in article titles is common, and no one ever refuted the proposer's argument. (He could've used other examples; the CIA's page is at Central Intelligence Agency, but look how many titles have CIA in the name!)
- As for the acronym, again, AAA is a pretty good example for why that argument doesn't fly. One editor said that AAA was irrelevant because it's the common name, but no one denies that ISIL is more common than The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
- To summarize, no reasonable argument was made in favor of the longer title besides consistency, which was pretty well shown to be a wash--either title would be inconsistent with some other articles. When you take that and you compare it next to a very clear and compelling WP:CONCISE case made by multiple well-respected editors, you have a policy-based consensus to move.
- What I have done is not to express an opinion or !vote; I analyzed the policy-based arguments in favor and in opposition to the move, per WP:CONSENSUS, and made a decision accordingly. If I did so incorrectly, you have my blessing to file a move review. I will not take it personally. I do not, however, believe that I erred in my closure of the move request.
