The first Cottman Transmission Center was established in 1962. Now, with hundreds of locations from coast-to-coast throughout the United States and Canada, Cottman Transmission is North America's leading chain of transmission repair centers. In 2006 this company bought the AAMCO name. The combination of the two companies has boosted the centers to an all time record number of over 1100 effectively making them the largest supplier of automotive transmission repair facilities.
