"405: The Movie" is a short special effects film that features a DC-10 airliner landing on the 405 Highway in Los Angeles. It was written, directed and produced by two computer special effects artists Bruce Branit and Jeremy Hunt. Released in 2000, it was the first short film to become widely popular as an internet download and resulted in a short period of fame for the filmmakers.

The film shows a man in a Jeep on an eerily empty highway with the soundtrack of a radio anouncer saying that the police have blocked of the highway. A DC-10 airliner lands behind him as he tries to outrun it and avoid hitting an older woman in a car.

In a presentation to the Independent Filmmakers Coalition of Kansas City Branit said that they sent out an announcement with the release date and used that as their deadline to finish the film in about 3 and a half months. He also said the "exterior" shots are entirely generated by computer and the shots from inside the jeep are about 50% digital effects.
