"Let's Go Fly a Coot" is the twentieth episode of the twenty-sixth season of the American animated sitcom The Simpsons, and the 572nd overall episode of the series. It aired on Fox on May 3, 2015. The episode's title is a parody of the song "Let's Go Fly a Kite."

Plot

Bart begins using an E-cigarette to impress Milhouse's Dutch cousin Annika. Meanwhile, the rest of the family learn about Grampa's days in the U.S. Air Force.

Reception

The episode received a 1.3 rating and was watched by a total of 3.12 million people.[1] Dennis Perkins of The A.V. Club gave the episode a C-, saying "the biggest sin of "Let’s Go Fly A Coot" is that it never trusts any single story to carry the episode."[2]

Cultural references

The interrogation scene is a spoof of Network, while the scene where Homer fights a man in his underwear is a spoof of Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).
