Willie Monroe, Jr. (Born December 17, 1986) is an American boxer.
Monroe made his debut on March 27, 2008 against Erix Quinteros. After winning his first 10 fights, he lost his first against Darnell Boone in 2011. After the loss he was released by this promoter.[1] After 17 months without a fight, Monroe returned to the ring in August 2012.[2][3] In 2014 he won the Boxcino Tournament which aired on ESPN 2.[4]
His next fight will come against undefeated Gennady Golovkin on May 16, 2015.[5]
His father and great-uncle were also professional boxers.[6]
