Hello! Are you interested in architecture? Do you think it is important to impart knowledge about architecture? Then we would like to invite you to help us in this Project!
An important note for everyone to remember: This project develops ideas about how we might organize data in articles about architecture. These are only suggestions, things to give you focus and to get you going, and you shouldn't feel obligated in the least to follow them. But if you don't know what to write or where to begin, following the below guidelines may be helpful. Mainly, we just want you to write articles!
Message Board Week commencing July 24, 2006 - Feel free to add anything you think might be of interest. (Wiped once a week). 1. We now have nominations for article improvement drives - please comment here and feel free to add your own nominations. 2. We have an infant wikiproject- Wikipedia:WikiProject Urban studies and planning Please feel free to contribute in anyway you can. 3. Suggestion to establish a Wikiproject Architecure Peer Review process. Please comment here. 4. Baden-Powell House & IG Farben Building have received Featured Article Status. 5. Portal:Architecture fails to receive featured portal status. Read about it Here.
Scope
This WikiProject aims to
- To thoroughly explore Architecture, buildings, construction, city planning and public space globally and historically.
- Improve Architecture, buildings, construction, city planning and public space related articles.
- To provide a place to discuss common issues on Architecture, buildings, construction, city planning and public space related pages.
- Organise, discuss and categorise Category:Architecture
- To ensure all pages meet the standards of Wikipedia:Cite sources. Non-referenced articles seem unprofessional and below the standard of even a high school research paper! See also WikiProject Fact and Reference Check.
- Develop standards and templates for Architecture, buildings, construction, city planning and public space related articles.
- To manage editing of the Architecture Wikiportal
How to help
How you can help depends on your time, resources and interest. Here are a variety of ideas for contributions ranging from simple to complex:
- Check for factual and spelling errors on Architecture, buildings, construction, city planning and public space pages.
- Improve the quality of existing articles, see How to structure the content.
- Check categorization of existing articles and help organize.
- List needed pages and create new pages, see Wikipedia:Requested articles/Applied arts and sciences#Architecture, buildings, city planning and public space
- Create and edit pages about architects. See Help for Authors for guidlines.
- Upload and add images to the Wikimedia:Commons and all architecture pages.
- Add Infoboxes to architecture or building related articles.
- Add links to websites where more architecture can be viewed. Particularly with articles for which architecture is not public domain, thus uploading images to Wikipedia would be a copyright violation.
- Update Portal:Architecture. The portal can hopefully be updated daily if not more often than that.
- Expand architecture stubs and architect stubs into full articles.
- Check references on Architecture, buildings, construction, city planning and public space pages.
- List questions, article requests and others on the talk page.
- Inform members who have displayed interest in the subject of the project via their talk page or the talk page of project pages.
- Contribute to conversations on articles listed here: Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Media, art and literature.
- Revert Vandalism on this portal and on articles to do with Architecture, buildings, construction, city planning and public space.
- Contribute to work listed on the portal's Things you can do section and the Tasks list.
- Submit quality articles for Wikipedia:Peer review or Wikipedia:Featured article candidates.
Articles for deletion
It is important to have an input into Articles for deletion. There is now a special page for Architecture, buildings, construction, city planning and public space articles, which needs to be maintained, updated and monitored. It can be found here: WikiProject Deletion sorting/Architecture, buildings, construction, city planning and public space. Articles need to be added manually: please add any AfD you want to draw attention to, and also put it on your watchlist.

A horribly written and formatted article, but with a substantial amount of content and probably an important topic.
