Geoff Moore (photographer)
Geoff Moore (born November 17, 1970 in Pasadena, CA) is an American photographer and director based in Los Angeles, CA. He has left his indelible cinematic mark on the pages of major magazines, hit MTV videos, international print and TV ad campaigns, photography books, and the wall's of many galleries. He has shot everything from T-Mobile to Coach, Inc to Diesel, Elle magazine to The L Word, Dita Von Teese to British GQ, Heidi Klum to Levi Strauss & Co., global Facebook ads to Norman Reedus and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. He shoots regularly for magazines, ad agencies, entertainment companies, fashion houses, numerous celebrity shoots, as well as his personal fine art work.
Work
Los Angeles based photographer and director Geoff Moore creates classic imagery with contemporary innovation.
Moore has directed and photographed campaigns for leading brands and agencies such as T Mobile, Coach, FaceBook, Playboy, Svedka, Sony PlayStation, DIESEL, Puma, Dove, TBWA/Chiat/Day LA, Y&R, Publicis, and Ogilvy and Mather. In May 2015, he shot the new Print + TV campaign for T Mobile in London. His 2014 FaceBook campaign had him shooting and creating images in SF, NY, London, Dublin, Tokyo, Singapore, India, Brazil, and others. His art photographs were also just featured at Art Cologne represented by Kaune, Posnik, Spohr Gallery in Germany.
Moore’s fine art work was most recently featured amongst the likes of William Eggleston, Richard Prince, Inez and Vinoodh, and Damien Hirst in Beverly Hills at a private showing. In 2012 and 2013, Moore’s work was chosen by American Photo as a “Photo Of The Year” to be apart of their prestigious permanent archive (Alex Prager/2012 and Val Keil for Playboy/2013). In 2011, Moore was featured in a massive outdoor art show in Hollywood with artist Alex Prager, curated by the Lucie Foundation, called "Facing West- Fashion in the Land of Celluloid." His recent cover story on Alex Prager was featured in Dazed (Dazed & Confused) Magazine along with an interview of Moore. Qvest Magazine of Germany recently did a 16 page spread and interview with Moore and Prager. [1]
Moore’s music videos have been honored by the MTV, Billboard and Music Video Production Association (MVPA) Awards, receiving two Director of the Year nominations by age 25, as well as nods for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best New Artist, MTV Europe Music Award for Best Video, and MTV Video Music Award for Best Rock Video. He had the distinction of getting his iconic black and white photograph of The Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante on the cover of Workbook. He has been commissioned by the estate of Kurt Cobain to shoot over 50 fine art images for the internationally released book “Cobain Unseen”.
He began his directing career in the mid-nineties at Palomar Pictures, where he was an up and coming director amongst such visionaries as Gore Verbinski and Jean-Baptiste Mondino. He then spent several years directing for Ridley Scott’s company RSA, while simultaneously building his photography career. He soon signed to the agency of Herb Ritts, Visage[citation needed].
