Relevant? http://kotaku.com/gaming/darkness/darkness-gameplay-footage-207082.php
Got no skills with Wikipedia, but someone might want to add this. =/
-- I don't know how to properly go about mentioning this, but why are the game scores not what they were? Gamespot and IGN are listed as giving 10/10, but they gave it 8.5 and 7.7, respectively and the reviews linked to from the page show that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.167.106.155 (talk) 19:48, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Improvement
Ive made a few minor additions here and there, however I feel this page could be further improved upon. Perhaps we should add two new sections briefly explaining Uncle Paulie and Jenny? according to the main website they appear to be the most prevalent and important characters thus far, aside from the sentient darkness. If we agree, I'll try to start on that whenever.
Summoning Dark Tentacles: Dark Tentacles are huge, incredibly strong appendages which grow from Estacado's back when summoned. They can lift and throw heavy objects with ease, allowing them to smash through barricades and tear down walls to allow Estacado access to difficult-to-reach areas, and they have no difficulty in crushing enemy characters to a pulp. Their tough, resilient surfaces mean they can also form an effective bullet shield in front of Estacado, protecting him from harm.
Is this referring to the demon arm ability? Grayjack 19:09, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Grayjacklol
- Character sections are very appropriate for VG articles, so brief character bios are appropriate. (Jackie's section can refer back to the comic article, but that's the only character that's really spelled out in that article.) I'll start a character section but go ahead and add. (I've finished the game and absolutely yes, the 4 main characters are Jackie, Paulie, Jenny and the Darkness)
- I would have to check the manuals, but I think you're right, it's called the Demon Arm. Also, the powers section is rather biased, unless these are words used in the manual to describe them.--Masem 19:32, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
In the darkness guns section, the soldiers are refeered to as zombies. Do you agree with this?Grayjack 15:27, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Grayjack
- Assuming you've played the game, the 'zombies' section refers to the point where Jackie is in the Darkness' realm and there's zombies tehre. The mafia underlings in NYC are definitely not zombies, if that's what you're refering to. --Masem 15:44, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
I think what he means are the soldiers in Hell. Drakonis 20:44, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Footage
Videos are showing up on gametrailers (here: http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=1762). I'm not sure how to link them. Possably someone who can might want to add it to the bottom of the page. This appears to be the first offical teaser to the game.
- Regards, Spookie.
- Video's aren't material for Wikipedia. Linking to the a website such as IGN or GameSpot is enough. ArchKnight47 03:54, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Style
This needs a major style revamp. Encyclopedia articles shouldnt have this many descriptive words, and shouldnt be subjective. e.g. something like "ofcourse when summoned, these tenticles can also tear through bone and flesh" should be "these tentacles can also be used as a weapon" This sounds like a poem by edgar allen poe, not encyclopedic content. thuglasT|C 22:13, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Then why don't *you* do it? I hate it when people show up and criticize, then do nothing to contribute. 68.116.180.107 02:26, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:PlayStation3cover.jpg
Image:PlayStation3cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Darklings
I'm pretty sure there are only four Darklings, I have checked in newer videos, and I've only seen four.--Sherk 22:57, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Only four have been revealed so far, certainly (Berserker, Gunner, Kamikaze and Light Killer) but the developers have hinted strongly in interviews that there are more that may be unlocked beyond the basics. So... I dunno. 68.116.180.107 02:25, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Mmmmmm.....well, lets just leave it at four Darklings until we can confirm there are more.--Sherk 21:41, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
There is a bonus Darkling you can get : Purchase The Darkness and receive a GameStop Exclusive In-Game item: The 2K Sports Darkling.
You're kidding me, right? I'm not sure if that's awesome or incredibly lame if you're not... 24.183.191.49 02:49, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
He's telling the truth, I have the game and there is a GameStop Exclusive Darkling, there is a code to unlock it, check on The Darkness's Gamespot page.--Sherk 08:48, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
On mine I put 555-5664 into a payphone and got the UK darkling
Thats just a different outfit for the Berserker, not an actual different one. Only four in the game.
Bugs
Why is the bugs section in there? Disk errors are a 360 problem and a link to a message board with no bug threads is not a source. Ciaran500 20:48, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Is it appropriate to mention a major lockup bug as described in an forum post? I can confirm that this bug is also a problem on the PS3 version and that no patch is available. If someone runs into this they either can't finish the game or must search for the problem description then reload and replay about 4 hours worth (it took me at least that long). Include the weapons
I think it should be neccessary to list the weapons the game has, being that many other game articles include this, such as the Mafia: Streets of Lost Heaven article, and even the Killzone article has the weapons in the game listed (how they found out the names is a mystery). Dont ask me to do it because I do not know the weapons, I did not play the game and wish to find out what weapons are in the game. To really find out about a game, I use wikipedia before IGN. ((Unsigned post from 72.94.24.223))
- While some game articles have it, lists of weapons is generally not appropriate for WP. I would definitely add The Darkness to that, because all of the weapons are based on real-life ones, and do not give the game the distinquishing features that it is. --Masem 06:23, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Oh come on, thats a stupid reason, you just dont want to put them in because you dont know what they are. I find it interesting to find out what weapons are in the game, I mean, you could just link the name of the guns to the article about the guns, that way people might actually use those sites. In a way, this helps wikipedia. Also you should state that wepons are used duel wield and pistols are not reloaded but are tossed away when empty, and a new pair is brought out with full clips. This is called the New York Reload, made famous by movies like The Matrix.
Differences between ports
There really needs to be a differences between ports section, covering the differences between the 360 and PS3 versions of the game.
In the current version of this page for example it mentions that:
The game uses television sets located within the game to progress the plot, but they can also be used to view full, licensed content.[1] This content includes the movies To Kill a Mockingbird, The Man with the Golden Arm, and The Street Fighter, the entire 13 part 1936 serial of Flash Gordon, and several "Popeye" and "Gabby" cartoon shorts.
The above is true in both ports of the game. However in the PS3 port of the game there is a MUCH larger amount of full movies (the next 2 Street Fighter movies etc) + the 3rd Flash Gordon serial is in there as well. Why the 2nd one wasn`t is alittle bizare but oh well.
The 360 port contains blur vision which is not featured in the PS3 port.
Soundtrack?
Anyone think we should add the soundtrack? It's not much, but could be nice. Or you could just tell me the first song that played during the credits and I'd be happy :). All the best. AgentHappyDay 21:46, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Question
Will they make another THE DARKNESS the video game on Nintendo Wii? --67.11.251.94 22:06, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Stupid question. If they were, it would've happened. Drakonis 20:51, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Jimmy the Grape
He should be included in characters since he plays such a significant role in the game alongside Butcher Joyce and Aunt Sara and is a frequently encountered character. 06:01, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Character Inaccuracies
This is the character in question.
Anthony Estacado
I have played the game two times through. My first issue is with the statement that Anthony accepted the Darkness so that he could avoid "certain death". Now, I might be mistaken, but I never heard this stated outright in game. I believe that this was written as an assumption, albeit a pretty safe one. However, since this is supposed to be an encyclopedia, if a piece of information is actually an assumption, I believe that it should be identified as such.
My second issue is with the statement that Anthony's age can be "deduced by the fact that his now extremely aged wife spends her days in the subways, still pining for him". There were only two aged women I encountered in the subways that mentioned their husbands, and only one of them were directly connected to someone from the Otherworld, and her name is Rosie Hazelgrove. Before leaving the Otherworld on one of your two ventures there, Charlie Hazelgrove asks you to deliver an item to his wife Rosie and to tell her that she was his 'light in the darkness'. In the Otherworld, Charlie does appear to he relatively young while Rosie herself is an exceptionally old woman.

The Darkness 2 or The Darkness II?
The cover artwork shows the logo as "The Darkness II". Robo37 (talk) 15:31, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
Something I don't understand...
In the first game, Jackie kills his Uncle Paulie. In the trailers for the second game, you see Jackie go into a building and kill a bunch of people, and says "You guys go ahead and deliver a message to my Uncle Paulie." How could this be any sort of message if Paulie is dead? -Poodle of Doom (talk) 22:52, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Does anyone else think that The Darkness belongs in the open world category? Let me knowECW28 (talk) 20:27, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
