Ivo Daniel Ferreira Mendonça Pinto (born 7 January 1990) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Croatian club GNK Dinamo Zagreb as a right back.

Club career

Born in Lourosa (Santa Maria da Feira), Pinto played youth football for three clubs, including six years with Boavista FC. In 2008 he joined neighbouring F.C. Porto, where he completed his development.

With the Dragons, Pinto only managed to be an unused substitute in two official games, being consecutively loaned for the duration of his contract, to Gil Vicente FC, Vitória de Setúbal and S.C. Covilhã, the second club in the top division.[1] He made his debut in the competition on 13 December 2009, playing five minutes in a 0–2 away loss against precisely Porto.

In the 2011 summer Pinto was acquired by Rio Ave F.C. but never represented the team, being immediately loaned to fellow league side U.D. Leiria,[2] where he started regularly but also suffered top level relegation.

In the following years Pinto competed abroad, first with CFR Cluj in Liga I[3] then GNK Dinamo Zagreb in the Prva HNL, with the latter signing the player to a four-year deal[4] for a reported fee of 3 million, according to a Cluj County newspaper.[5]

International career

Pinto was named in Fernando Santos' first squad as Portugal manager in October 2014, ahead of a friendly with France and a UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying match against Denmark.[6]
