The Iowa Star conference consist of 12 small schools (13 in 2014-15 season) in northeastern quarter of Iowa. It is divided into north-south leagues within the conference, along Highway 20 corridor.

Here is the breakdown for each sport.
Although the Iowa Star Conference doesn't offer many sports, most schools are combined with nearby schools to create more athletic choices.
Fall:
Football: Not conference sponsored. (State-assigned districts) 8-Man teams: Tripoli, Clarksville, Janesville, CAL, Dunkerton, Colo-Nesco, Meskawki Settlement. Class A teams: GMG and North Tama. Waterloo Christian shares with Waterloo West (Mississippi Valley Conference).
Volleyball: Sport sponsored by all schools.
Cross Country: Don Bosco with Waterloo Columbus (WAMaC), Tripoli with Denver (North Iowa Cedar League), Waterloo Christian with Waterloo West (Mississippi Valley Conference).
Swimming & Diving: Not Sponsored.
Winter:
Wrestling: Clarksville and Don Bosco only ones with wrestling. Colo-Nesco with Nevada (Heart of Iowa). Janesville sharing with Waverly Shell Rock (Northeast Iowa), Tripoli & Dunkerton share with Denver (North Iowa Cedar League). North Tama & Grundy Center (North Iowa Cedar League) sharing with Gladbrook Rienbeck (North Iowa Cedar League). Waterloo Christian sharing with Waterloo West (Mississippi Valley Conference). CAL sharing with Hampton-Dumont (North Central Conference). GMG sharing with East Marshall (North Iowa Cedar League).
Basketball: No sharing will be involved for the first time in 2013-14 year.
Bowling: Not Conference sponsored. Tripoli & Meskawki Settlement have it. Don Bosco with Waterloo Columbus (WaMaC), Dunkerton with Denver (North Iowa Cedar League), Waterloo Christian with Waterloo West (Mississippi Valley Conference).
Spring:
Soccer: (Not Conference Sponsored) CAL shares with Hampton Dumont & Belmond Klemme, Colo-Nesco shares West Marshall & Collins-Maxwell/Baxter (Host school). North Tama is with Union (North Iowa Cedar League), Don Bosco is with Waterloo Columbus (WaMaC), Dunkerton is with Waterloo East (Mississippi Valley Conference), Waterloo Christian (Walnut Ridge) is with Waterloo West (Mississippi Valley Conference).
Track & Field: Waterloo Christian is with Waterloo West (Mississippi Valley Conference). Otherwise all schools sponsored.
Golf: Sport sponsored.
Tennis: Not sponsored.
Summer:
Baseball & Softball: Waterloo Christian is with Waterloo West (Mississippi Valley Conference). Tripoli dropped Softball for 2012 & 2013 seasons then picked back up for 2014 season. Otherwise sponsored.

What the Iowa Star is known for?

The Iowa Star Conference, although small, has a variety of powerhouses in many sports. As in Don Bosco, and their Wrestling program for the past 30 years winning 10 traditional titles (last one in 2012) and 8 dual team titles! Also Tripoli's powerful volleyball tradition, making it to state at least 18 times in the last 20 years, winning it many times! Clarksville has also had its share of tradition with football and wrestling. Janesville Girls sports are very sturdy with softball, volleyball, and even track. North Tama has always been a contender in the football title (won in 2010 season) and even the girls track title. Dunkerton's basketball teams in recent times has been solid winning titles left and right!
