A new reference tool
Hello Books & Bytes subscribers. There is a new Visual Editor reference feature in development called Citoid. It is designed to "auto-fill" references using a URL or DOI. We would really appreciate you testing whether TWL partners' references work in Citoid. Sharing your results will help the developers fix bugs and improve the system. If you have a few minutes, please visit the testing page for simple instructions on how to try this new tool. Regards, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:47, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Jaime Aymerich
Thanks for wielding the hammer there. Blocking the editor as a sock of User:Jaime Aymerich isn't quite on the nose, though, as there's no such user - so far as I can tell, User:Achille Peloponneso is the earliest account used to spam this actor. I opened an SPI earlier this morning at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Achille Peloponneso. --McGeddon (talk) 10:42, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Page Deletion
Hello Jim,
what you have done, deleted my page...!? strange... you have little knowledge about my vision, but that i dont care... but to delete my page means disrespecting me too... it's not fare...! Rijo Jose Kudiyirippil 12:05, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Rijo Jose Kudiyirippi, please add your messages to the bottom of the talk page, or they may be overlooked. I've moved it for you. Please take care not to inadvertently remove other editors' messages. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not social media. For Common Cause page deletion
Hi! Thanks again for the help! I've moved it to article space, but not before messing up first (I think it's fine now...I moved it back to my sandbox then moved it back into article space). I spent a semester abroad in London and interned/volunteered at the charity for a little bit; I was trying to do this (Wiki page) because I believe in what they're doing and think that having a Wiki page is a game changer. Hope that satisfied the curiosity! Thanks again! Michellecow (talk) 17:21, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
Help need
Hi Jimfbleak,
Recently I had a post on my sandbox mentioning about a real estate company which I think it should be posted for people's reference. However, due to the "promotion" tone, it was deleted by you. After a while, I changed the words and would like to know whether it is good to post or not. Should I contact you or what should be the next step? Please please help.
Thanks a lot. Ngoc (aka Norah). — Preceding unsigned comment added by NorahVo (talk • contribs) 07:49, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Terrorizer LA
This is not spam and the band was not formed in 2015. Please read the information that was posted originally. There are many people wondering why there are two Terrorizers and what is the difference between them and it seems most logical for both bands to have their own page to explain why there are two bands claiming the same name and playing some of the same music. It is extremely frustrating that wikipedia (a page I have donated to, supported and edited on many occasions) seems to be content to delete relevant data when it could simply be looked up here for a proper explanation. The references are there and there's every reason for the page to exist. There's no promotional material or anything that otherwise financially benefit either band. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delmuerte (talk • contribs) 14:02, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
Deleted Page - Emak S.p.A.
Hi Jim, You have deleted this page 'Emak S.p.A.' because of unambiguous advertising. I wrote the article for describe the company, not to promote. It's seem to me there's no promotional text, if you disagree please tell me what i'd change and i will. Markeven (talk) 17:27, 24 June 2015
ICCM Deleted Page
Hi-you seem to have deleted the page ICCM due to 'G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion'. As mentioned on its talk page, it's an international conference and the article reported it as such and there are other conferences reported on wiki. Could you let me know what came across as promotional in the article and I could change that? If there isn't anything particular that construes as unambiguous advertising, could you please restore the page?Ambrin89 (talk) 07:35, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
Deleting FCB Inferno
Dear Jim, You have deleted FCB Inferno the page created to be used as a reference for people to find out more about the advertising agency. All of the information used is sited and none of it was fabricated. FCB (advertising agency) links to it, as FCB Inferno is a part of the bigger company of FCB. All of the information i thought to be important to give readers a proper overview of the company. Please help me so that i can recreate the page, as i feel it is a big and important enough company to have a Wikipedia page. Thank you!Zxy224 (talk) 10:36, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

Page Deletion Question
Dear Jim, You have deleted my page Chris Hutchinson (writer) and stated reasons include "unambigious advertising" and may not agree to what is regarded as notability. Could you provide me with some specifics? This is my first Wikipedia article and I want to ensure I learn more about the rules. My goal was to simply inform the community about this author and his book. Thank you in advance for your help as I refine this page. I've placed links - I think - to my talk page. I'm still learning Wikipedia, so please be patient with me. Thanks! Writeaway14 (talk — Preceding undated comment added 23:16, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

Deleting Corporate Finance Associates
Dear Jim, About a year ago a history of Corporate Finance Associates that I worked on was deleted -- it is now a 59 year old company. I think one of the problems was that I did not take the time to collect citations that normally accompany the histories of other well established companies -- many who are contemporaries of Corporate Finance Associates. It would be great if I could get a copy of the information so that it can be edited, citations added, and double checked to conform with the encyclopedic standards. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks...Larque Larque (talk) 19:53, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
Deleted Page - Tutoring Beyond Borders
Dear Jim,
I see that you have deleted the page 'Tutoring Beyond Borders" because of unambiguous advertising. Here is the log of your deletion: '06:36, 5 October 2014 Jimfbleak (talk | contribs) deleted page Tutoring Beyond Borders (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)'. I'm part of the community that this charity works in, and there was no advertising there. The whole purpose of the article was to inform people of the inner workings of this charity and the services it provides. It is the only free tutoring service in the community, and describing their types of services is not an advertisement of their services as the charity only specializes in free tutoring, a feature no other charity in this city or in fact, province, has. I was going to add to the Wikipedia page with some more references and information about their expansion and new partnerships with the University of Waterloo and found that it was deleted by you. Please help me restore this page and let me know what I should do to make it better to satisfy Wikipedia standards. Thank you.
Ledentalplaque (talk) 07:32, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
- Dear Jim,
- Thank you for looking through Tutoring Beyond Borders, but I'm not sure why you think I wrote this page. I was actually asked by members of the local community to try and restore the Wikipedia page because it was of significance, whether you think so or not. From what I remember of the article when I read it, it helped people see what the charity did. And your comment about "I'm part of the community that this charity works in"...are you saying that members of let's say, Ontario, aren't allowed to write posts about charities within Ontario due to a conflict of interest? I would not think so.
- I have a collection of sources/references from the Canadian Revenue Agency and other news articles, so whoever gave a Yahoo search page obviously didn't do a good job of citing anything.
- Also, without seeing the deleted page, I have no idea which sections you are referring to because once again, I did not write it but am going off memory from whenever I read it, and this could be before all of this promotional stuff you're mentioning. When I read it, it just had basic information and nothing as elaborate as co-op students or awards.
- I would like you to restore this in a user subpage for me to improve so your comments actually make sense to me and I can see where to improve things or delete them if they are what you call "spammy". If and when this has been improved in a satisfactory manner, will I be able to contact you again to verify it's eligibility for undeletion or revival? Please let me know.
- Dear Jim,
- Thank you for your response. I just went through the page and agree with your comments, it's not written very objectively. I'm going to try my best to make it objective, but probably the best bet is to redo most sections and delete some of them. I'll keep you posted, may take some time!

Thank you for this opportunity to discuss our deletion. We hope it will now meet with your approval. We tried to make it relevant to show why is of value. While we have our own webpage, Wikipedia is read by millions and seems to be the number one source for information so we would truly appreciate having a Wikipedia page.

Deletion review for Klingspor Abrasives
An editor has asked for a deletion review of Klingspor Abrasives. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Stifle (talk) 09:30, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Jim, I see that you Gll deleted Klingspor Abrasives last night. I've raised this at DRV because I think that as a minimum it deserves AfD. It has since come back as a stub too, which is a bit pointless - if we're to have it, let's have the bigger one.
- Sorry for not raising this with you first but when the stub was recreated I could no longer see that you had been the deleting admin. I've only just found you.

Deletion Jean Philippe piter
A tag has been placed on Jean Philippe Piter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopaedia.
Why just delete it after all the work it took me to put it up!? I need the chance to make it better and not AGAIN! It is important that I add many references to it to prove that it is a significant person. It is as important as having a page for PATRICK DEMARCHELIER ! Please help me get the page back ! Thanks.

- Thanks a lot for spending time to edit it and provide vital feedback. Yes, I understand the faults I was making till now viz. treating wikipedia article as a technical document and trying to put lists and bullets for organizing information , and not understanding that an article is more about the pleasure of reading and not about assembling mere facts. I took a shot at it again based on the lines suggested. Shall wait for your inputs further eagerly. Devopam (talk) 14:27, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

- Yes. I was puzzled by your deletion of the AfD page, and came here to ask why you did it. Until I read Mr Potto's comment, it didn't occur to me you might have meant to delete Stuart Matthew and deleted the wrong page by mistake. In any case, I can only assume that the deletion of the AfD discussion was a mistake, so I shall restore that page. (In the unlikely event that you did have a good reason for it, please re-delete it and let me know why.) I shall not delete the article, as I took part in the discussion, but perhaps you would like to go back to the AfD and close it. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 13:43, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks JamesBWatson. The deletion summary was "no independent sources, no evidence of notability, AFD'd but editor keeps removings tags, lots of SPA accounts all saying "undelete", unusual in itself", which is what made me think the intention was indeed to delete the article and not the AfD. Deleted page: Chiller Theater Convention
I was unaware that Wikipedia utilized a gestapo agency to police perfectly legitimate articles of informative natures. There was already a heading "Chiller Theater Convention" which I followed to find a blank page. The system asks for contributions. Since I was around the conventioneers since its origin, I wrote from personal experience. Moreover, not every topic has documentation. The "Chiller Theater" is a cult endeavor, which had a more predominant underground then an overground. The convention has been operational for nearly 25 years and no one had written a page about it before. This is not accidental. Relating to the claim of "advertising". I tried to make the article be interesting, as well as informative. However, it hardly advocated for the commercial enterprise and I am certain that its producers (who I know) would not count my article's content as promoting their business. In a certain small way, it serves as a warning label for minors (or their parents) not to confuse this gathering with a "trick-or-treat" program. In that respect, my article functions as a public-service cautionary message and does not advertise. My time is valuable. I prefer it not be wasted by over zealot, Orwellian control-mongers. If this organization does not want crisp, concise, interesting and factual articles on fringe Americana, then stop specifically requesting that pages be authored--regarding topics that CAN'T POSSIBLY meet your chauvinistic academic requirements. Thank you and 10-bucks says you delete this page too. Izeldor (talk) 07:47, 6 July 2015 (UTC) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Izeldor
