Alan Spaulding is a fictional character on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light. He was originally played by Chris Bernau, but since 1994 he has been played by Ron Raines.

Alan Spaulding has been married numerous times, and has had plenty of affairs along the way as well. He is the father of Phillip Spaulding, Alan-Michael Spaulding and Gus Aitoro. Phillip is adopted, his biological father was Justin Marler.

Alan is very close to his sister Alexandra.

Alan is currently married to Beth Raines Spaulding, his son Phillip's ex-wife.

Alan has four grandchildren: Elizabeth and James (Phillip & Beth), Zach (Phillip and Harley Cooper), and Emma (Phillip & Olivia).
