Testing

I'm a new user, big fan of reading and referencing Wikis, but I've never actually gone into the nitty gritty details of the code and syntax of writing and editing articles. I'd like to start, though, since I (among everybody) am likely to have something worth adding.

I'm starting with anime, though, since I think its knowledge base is slightly more obscure than bigger, nonfiction topics. But I'll see how far I can go. The toughest part seems to be mastering the syntax and getting an all-around feel for the structure of a Wikipedia article (i.e. how to use bold/large/italic headings and how much linking to other articles should be done).

Award from Dynamo_ace

The Original Barnstar
An impressive start on your Wikipedia contributions by enhancing the "Syaoran Li" article. I award you the Original Barnstar for this contribution. --Dynamo_ace (Talk) 19:47, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you; much appreciated! There will be more Cardcaptor Sakura articles to be enhanced as well. --Crisu 05:39, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Along those lines, could you do me a favor? I just posted Ruby Moon (CLAMP Character) but didn't get a chance to give it a thorough proofread. Could you look it voer for me and correct as needed? Michael Hopcroft 06:34, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cardcaptor Sakura

Just wanted to say that I think you're doing an awesome job on the Cardcaptor Sakura articles! -- Ned Scott 07:53, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much! I appreciate the comment. I'm thinking of writing a template soon for all the series; something kind of like Template:Xenosaga. I guess CCS doesn't have that many articles yet, but the boxes just look (and likely are) so convenient and professional. --Crisu 14:28, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just thought I'd drop you a line and tell you that the idea of a CCS navigation template has been brought up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Anime and manga#Cardcaptor navigation template. Seems like more people also think that it's a good idea. -- Ned Scott 23:31, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, nice. That's awesome, thanks. ^^ I'm personally proud of reworking the Clow Card article(s), too. Glad it's leading the way towards better CCS stuffs. --Crisu 23:43, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. About the Fujitaka Article in Tsubasa. Yes he was shown in a anime episode only of Tsubasa episode 31. Thats 2nd season. I can provide you a screenshot if you want

You don't have to. I believe you. ^^ --Crisu

To add ever notice that Mihara is also the last name of the people in Chobits ( Chitose? and Icchan) User:layamin August 14, 2006

I guess it could potentially be another connection, like with Angelic Layer. But I don't think that's good enough to mention on any articles here, if that's what you were thinking. ^^ --Crisu 04:35, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another award from Dynamo_ace

The Original Barnstar
Another impressive start on your Wikipedia contributions by enhancing the "Eriol Hiiragizawa" article, particualy with a rare image find. I once again award you the Original Barnstar for this contribution. --Dynamo_ace (Talk)

Re: Protection Requests

I have semi-protected Vietnam, as per your request.

And as for Sierra Mike, I'm glad I was able to talk to another fan of the show, namely you. If you would like to declare that you are a fan of Sierra Mike, you can put {{User smfan}} on your user page. I actually have an archive on my hard disk of over 4,000 images from that show. My favourite characters are One, Two and Niner. -- Denelson83 20:51, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was nice to meet you. ^^ I found your naming system pretty fun and interesting. And that's fabulous you also like Niner; I've been around a lot of Sierra Mike fans who despise Niner, citing the "relationship" with Zero or any overall displayed arrogance. I say bah to that. And I'm quietly a fan of a Niner-Ten pairing. --Crisu 23:43, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Hi...thanks for the welcome. I'm looking forward to participating in the wonder that is Wikipedia. It seems like you've done a lot; that's really neat. Thanks again-- AncientNova 04:26, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit problem

I really hope this works right. Ok, Crisu, in the Card Captor Sakura article, in the Clow Card listings, both the Alphabetical order and order of capture sections are missing "The Song" They should go in the spots where there is no text next to the "#" sign. After toying with it for a little bit, I figured out that "The Song" won't show up on the real article unless you change or remove it's kanji. I believe that was my edit that you changed. The so called "Peculiar use of kanji." Well I hope you can fix it because I would like to see an error free article on this subject.RecklessFire 21:13, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hm.. what browser are you using? Because everything shows up properly on mine. If I understand correctly, you're saying that while "43." is there in the list, the text "kanji The Song" is somehow missing. ...That would be rather peculiar, since I kept the formatting all consistent when I built the tables; it's strange that just one would break. Try viewing the page on a different browser (or different computer); I'll try to see if there's a compatibility issue somehow with that one kanji. --Crisu 21:46, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All of the kanji I added for the Clow Cards were C&P'd directly from the Japanese article on Cardcaptor Sakura, and the particular kanji I copied for Song is 歌 (also worth noting that this kanji is also the first one in Kaho Mizuki's given name, so maybe the poster will want to check if there is an error there too). The previous edit (which Crisu reverted) was showing 検索 for me, which is definitely not the card's name. All cards (Hope being a special exception) only have one kanji represented on them. --EmperorBrandon 23:36, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm I will check to see if it was just an internal server error somewhere over here. And yes that was what I was talking about......Ok, I checked and it is still missing. I may have said this already but when I was toying with it I found that if you remove the kanji for "The Song" it appears just fine. But when I tried to put it back it disappeared. Oh yeah that funny edit was mine. I did that before I registered. Eheheh sorry. -___-. I think I might try looking at it on another computer tommorrow. I'll get back to you on that.okay I checked on another computer and it shows up. It still doesn't on mine though. Oh well...RecklessFire 02:28, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Two barnstars!

You have been awarded two barnstars! The first one is for your tireless install of the navagation system to CCS\CC articles:

The Original Barnstar
You have been awarded the orginal Barnstar for installing the navagation system to the Cardcaptor Sakura set of articles - Dynamo_ace 10:34, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

But what is more impressive is:

The Surreal Barnstar
You have been awarded the Surreal Barnstar for your upload of a rare Meilin picture for the article "Meiling Li". Impressive! - Dynamo_ace 10:34, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

-Dynamo_ace Talk

Ah, it's blue and shiny. Thank you. ^_^ --Crisu 18:28, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is a problem with the navi system. If you look it has Tomoyo and her mom classified as the Li clan. Syaoron and meilin classified as family and Naoko Yanagisawa is all one link but Yanagisawa is listed next to teachers whereas Naoko is next to classmates.RecklessFire 16:39, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You must be running 800x600 resolution (or don't have a maximized browser window). I made the table for 1024x768. I'll try to go in and make a compatibility tweak. --Crisu 18:28, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Avatar: The Last Airbender WikiProject

Hey Crisu,

I think we can agree that there is a lot of work that needs to be done to bring the Avatar: The Last Airbender pages up to par with the rest of Wikipedia. To answer this call, how would you feel about there being a WikiProject for the Avatar: The Last Airbender pages on Wikepedia? Iniatives would include fixing grammar, wikifying the pages, removing conjectural theories, removing the tons of unwarranted shipping, added a few new pages (i.e. a page for the Spirit World), expanding some of the pages, bringing the main Avatar page up to Featured Article status, and whatever else interested parties can come up with to improve this area of Wikipedia. I'm trying to see who would be interested in helping out with one or more of these iniatives, and if creating a WikiProject is feasible. Would you be interested in helping out? Prototime 21:56, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I agree with you. The other Avatar articles could use some collaborative attention. I'm interested in being part of the project, but I'm working over the summer, so I'm not likely to have a whole of time for massive editing. But I guess a Wikiproject is a long-term thing anyway, so yeah. I can contribute every now and then. ^_^ --Crisu 02:56, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's awesome! I've also spoken to a few other editors, and they also have expressed interest, so I have gone ahead and started to construct the WikiProject's main page. It's still under construction and hasn't been revealed to the rest of Wikipedia yet, but I'd like to hear your preliminary opinions on the page's content and the direction of the project. You can find it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Avatar: The Last Airbender; feel free to post any thoughts about it on its talk page (a few other editors are getting a sneak-peak as well, and hopefully we can get some good input before making this official), and be sure to add yourself to the members list. Thanks! Prototime 19:13, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

reply to your message:

Personal update

Yeah, I've been kind of Wiki-dead as of late. Sorry to all my fellow-editor-acquaintances. I'm not gone forever, though, as I do check this place for information from time to time.. And I've seen things I want to fix, but I just haven't had the time to focus fully on it. And I'd rather not make one edit at a time; my style is to go through the whole article and take care of it in one sweep. So yeah.. give me some time to get adjusted to a new year of college and everything that goes with it. I see lots of Avatar and Cardcaptor Sakura stuff I can take care of, so I have a queue going. Best of luck to everyone else for now, and I'll see you guys soon... --Crisu 15:30, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More updating

I guess after several months I'm still kinda dead to the Wiki-world. But I still aim to come back to help defend the quality of my favorite articles. In the meantime, all these fair-use rationale notices (while I do understand their importance) are annoying. But I'll tackle them as the notices come. Would help, too, if the people who want to act like the "rationale police" could assist in sizing down some images to 300x225 and copying this text:

|Description=Screenshot of episode xx from the CLAMP anime Cardcaptor Sakura.
|Source=TV episode
|Portion=One frame (less than one second) from the episode; non-spoiler
|Resolution=Yes: 300x225
|Purpose=To provide a preview of the episode in question. Acts as a visual aide for the episode description in the related article. Improves the quality of the article as a whole.
|Replaceability=Could be replaced with another non-spoiler screenshot from the same episode if necessary; no "free" equivalent available as entire episode is copyrighted.
|other_information=Screenshot is equivalent to a "teaser" image that would appear on the back of the commercial DVD case containing this episode. Does not infringe on the copyright owner's ability to make a profit. Rather, it helps to promote the episode to potential buyers.

How to create a template?

Hi. May I ask how to create a template? I want to create one for Fushigi Yūgi. Can you create one for me and then I fill out the details. I don't really know how to do it.

Thanks,
Samantha Lim88 09:45, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want some starter code, take it from another template. Take the Cardcaptor Sakura one I wrote, for example. Replace links and color tags as needed. I'm not sure how else to teach you. Hopefully you have a little bit of basic Wiki-markup and HTML knowledge. Luckily you can use the Sandbox or "Show preview" as often as you need to until things get right. But a template is really just another Wikipedia article, just prefaced with Template: in the name. --Crisu 04:42, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading photo of Lauren DeStefano

Tried uploading a PNG first, but it wasn't displaying, so I tried a JPG next with no success. Maybe Wikipedia takes some time to generate the thumbnail? Sorry for the clutter; I'll double-check the pages in one day to see if the image is displaying properly. --Crisu (talk) 07:04, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
