Paul Keetch
Paul Stuart Keetch (born 21 May 1961, Hereford) is a Liberal Democrat politician in the United Kingdom.
Keetch was elected a Liberal Hereford City Councillor in 1983. He is Member of Parliament for Hereford, and has been since 1997. He was the Liberal Democrat spokesman for Defence from October 1999 until the May 2005 General Election.
In July 2005, Keetch succeeded Sharon Bowles MEP as Chair of the Liberal International British Group. He also sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Constituency issues
During a road closure in 2004, Paul Keetch actively supported the pedestrianisation of the retail area of Hereford, going so far as telling Herefordshire Council not to "dawdle"[1]. In 2006 he moved his constituency office from Widemarsh Street to St. Owen's Street, an area not affected by the redevelopment.[2]
