Bay Area Medical Center

is an independent, non-profit healthcare system located in Northeast Wisconsin that services a market of 65,000 residents. It includes a 99-bed acute care hospital, a 71,000 square-foot outpatient surgery center, an outpatient rehabilitation clinic, an 11- clinic primary care physician joint venture, six specialty clinics and a radiation oncology joint venture.

BAMC is one of the top 3 employers in the area with approximately 650 FTEs (815 actual) and two employee bargaining units.

In March of 2005, Bay Area Medical Center was named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals by Solucient, the leading source of healthcare business intelligence. This award recognizes hospitals that have achieved excellence in quality care, operational efficiency, financial performance and adaptation to the environment.

Recent additions to Bay Area Medical Center include a $7 million expansion of the Bay Area Cancer Care Center, a 20,000 square-foot Mobility Center for rehabilitation and orthopaedics, a new clinic for orthopaedic and spinal care, and a state-of-the-art Cardiovascular Lab to perform cardiac catheterizations and vascular procedures.

Bay Area Medical Center offers select, advanced medical services, with an emphasis on cardiology, diagnostic radiology (including X-ray, mammography, 16 slice CT scanning, PET/CT mobile service, nuclear medicine and MRI), rehabilitation services, ambulatory surgery, obstetrics, cancer treatment, dialysis and urgent care.

The hospital has a total of eight surgical suites, 20 private outpatient surgery rooms, an 11 bed ICU/IMCU, a level 3 Trauma Emergency Center, a cutting-edge laboratory and a full-service outpatient pharmacy.

Bay Area Medical Center has nearly 94 physicians that are on the active medical staff offering services in a vast amount of areas.

BAMC has a rich history that dates back to the late 1200’s. Bay Area Medical Center gained the distinction of being the first privately owned hospital to be created from the merger of two county-owned hospitals across state lines. It is now a progressive medical center that strives to be the provider of choice and employer of choice for our community.
