Orphaned non-free media (File:Sky New Zealand logo.svg)

Thanks for uploading File:Sky New Zealand logo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 13:19, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Belated thanks

I rarely do that, but here it is long overdue - thank you. The dezomify script that you wrote for extracting www.gahetna.nl images helped providing many hundreds, or maybe thousands of valuable photographs for multiple wikimedia projects. Anefo is expanding their CC-BY content (e.g., they've added color images under toegang 2.24.01.06 and 2.24.01.07, as well as a large new package of 2.24.01.03 images), and thus the work is on-going. Regards. Materialscientist (talk) 05:03, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to hear it has been useful! : ) I will integrate this capability into the main dezoomify version (the one on SF) as soon as possible. Quibik (talk) 23:56, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
One more comment on that script. I have complained in the past that on Win 7 (64 bit) it was stumbling and retrieving a photo per hour as a result. Meanwhile, it was working fine on 32 bit windows machines within the same network. I have fixed that today on my PC by performing windows updates - something in the recent update package unlocked python. Materialscientist (talk) 02:22, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, wow, thanks for letting me know. That speedup is mind-boggling (about 500× for me). I suspect that Windows Defender or a similar mechanism has now stopped over-eagerly scanning jpegtran and/or the intermediate input-output images at every single one of the thousand or so untiling steps. Oil cleansing method

Hello Quibik. I have recently nominated Oil cleansing method, an article on which you have worked, for deletion. I request your input here. Thanks! - Sweet Nightmares 05:09, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Friedrich Nietzsche

Hi Quibik, Please could you remove the halftone pattern from this image of Friedrich Nietzsche. I can do the other touch-ups, unless you want to have at it. Kind regards, nagualdesign 00:43, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

St George the Hagiorite

And could you also see what can be done with this image? Thanks. nagualdesign 19:03, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi nagualdesign! Thanks for reminding me about the previous request, I wanted to do it but simply forgot to put it on my todo list. I cleaned up the noise on both of the images. —Quibik (talk) 19:57, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
A perfect job, as always. Thank you again. Kind regards, nagualdesign 23:13, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help

I searched and found that you can remove watermarks. I have nominated Shaina NC for GA. I request you to remove watermark from atleast one image. I use mobile and it is impossible for me to download some software to remove watermarks. Thanks! Abhi (talk) 04:12, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, Quibik ! I am indeed very glad. Thanks ! Abhi (talk) 17:20, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Halftone pattern

Hi Quibik! Would you mind taking a stab at File:Luther Severance.jpg? If you can remove the halftone pattern from the original upload, I can do the rest. I realize it's a poor quality image to begin with, but I thought with your kid gloves we might be able to make a better job of it. Regards, nagualdesign 20:04, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Quibik

1000 apologies for the recent brouhaha. I would never have asked you to get involved if I'd known that was going to happen. Unfortunately I didn't fare very well trying to defend you either, and you'd already handled the situation admirably. In future I'll try to think twice before posting requests, or my two cents. And thank you for completing the request. Kind regards, nagualdesign 01:08, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Extraction help needed

Hi Quibik, I asked Materialscientist for assistance in downloading original photo versions from the Dutch National Archive (www.gahetna.nl). He pointed me to a Python script you wrote for that purpose. I tried it out but can not get it to function properly on my computer (W7 32bit). See his Talk page for the details. Any chance you can help me along? Thx, --Wolbo (talk) 01:34, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Updated scripts

Hi Quibik. I edited your monobook.js and your vector.js to update you to the latest version of TemplateScript. You were using a much older version called regex menu framework, so the main difference you'll see (if you uncomment the script) is an improved regex editor and cleaner custom scripts. I also updated deprecated functions and made your scripts HTTPS-compatible. Let me know if anything breaks, or if you'd like help migrating the scripts into your common.js. :) —Pathoschild 02:53, 09 August 2015 (UTC)
