As a researcher, Taheri is credited with founding two particular branches of Iranian alternative medicine: Faradarmani and Psymentology. Both therapies are based on the theory of Interuniversalism and are a subcategory of Interuniversal Erfan (Halqeh), which holds that man’s existence is as vast as the universe itself, and that man's body consists of more than just its physical attributes of flesh and bone.
Faradarmani is a completely mystical form of alternative therapy in which the patient is mystically connected to a universal network of intelligence and awareness called the Interuniversal Consciousness Network or Holy Spirit. The patient gives a physical report to the physician on feelings of warmth, cold, pain, tremors, stinging, etc. The patient's defects are identified and treatment begins with the elimination of symptoms.
Psymentology deals with "mind" and "psyche" as separate concepts and is used to alleviate mental and psychic disorders.
For three decades, Taheri has subjected his research to various tests and prompted much discussion in the medical community. Many doctors and paramedics agree that his methods and experience in alternative medicine have been remarkably effective, and led to a shift in medical practice in the past decade.
Currently, more than thirty thousand instructors in the world and Iran are teaching alternative medicine and millions of people are satisfied with its efficiency, despite some criticism from the mainstream medical community. Extensive research on the effects of these two branches of alternative medicine is ongoing by physicians, psychiatrists, veterinarians, and botanists, including research on in vitro cells. Many scientific papers have reported successful outcomes.
