The rufous horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus rouxii) is a species of bat in the Rhinolophidae family. It is found in China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.
Description
Head and body length 7–9 cm. Forearms 5cm. Wingspan is 28–31 cm. Weight 11–14 g.
Color is highly variable. The pelage is soft and silky. Generally it is reddish brown with the underside lighter. The nose-leaf, is prominent, complex. Large ears lack a tragus.
Culture
Known as බොරත් අස් ලාඩම් වවුලා (bo-rath as-laadam wawula) in Sinhala.
