The Damu Ridas were an assortment of Bloods gang members from South Central Los Angeles who recorded the Bloods & Crips collaboration albums Bangin' on Wax and Bangin' on Wax 2... The Saga Continues. After Bangin' on Wax albums were made, the Bloods & Crips split up. The Bloods members formed the Damu Ridas, and the Crip members formed Nationwide Rip Ridaz. Most of the members are now deceased. The group was mostly composed of gang members from two gangs : the Denver Lane Gangsta Bloods, and the Crenshaw Mafia Gangsta Bloods. Those two gangs are known to have a very close alliance to the point that they are called "Denver Mafias" or "Mafia Lanes". Over 70 members of this alliance have been killed.

RedRum781 from the Avenue Piru Gang is related to rapper Kurupt, though the two have a long time feud. During the Death Row days, RedRum781 signed to Death Row Records, the same label where Kurupt was in at the time.

Peanut 2, Lil' Laniak 2, Tip Toe, O.G Mad Eye and Big Hawk died between 1995 and 1999. Spyder died in 2000, and B-Brazy in 2003. Only two main members of the Damu Ridas are still alive today : Pimp D and Lil' Hawk.

Members

  • B-Brazy (L.A Denver Lane Bloods) - Deceased. Was killed by a Mexican gang in 2003. He is the last of the Damu Ridas to have been killed.[1]

  • Peanut 2 aka KP (L.A Denver Lane Bloods) - Deceased. He was killed by Raymond Avenue Crips in November of 1995. His older brother Peanut 1 was also killed by a Crip gang. He is survived by one brother named Pigeon who is a member of the Denver Lanes.[citation needed]

  • Lil' Laniak 2 (L.A Denver Lane Bloods) - Deceased. On October 23 1995, on Crenshaw and Century, while with his 3 kids, Lil Laniak 2 was shot and killed by a member of the Eight Tray Gangsta Crips. His great homie Shane Willer also known as Big Laniak or BJ got killed with 4 more people (2 men and two women) in a drug deal in which they were set-up by United Blood Nation and the main one to organize the deed was from Campanella Park Piru. Because of this event, to this day the Campanella Park Piru and the L.A Denver Lane Bloods are at war. Damu Ridas member G-Len made a tribute to Big Laniak in the song "For The Money" from his album Woop Woop.[2]

  • Tip Toe (Crenshaw Mafia Gang) - Deceased. Tip Toe was a respected member of the 104th Street CMG. He was killed by a Piru gang, the Neighborhood Piru. His death started a war between the Crenshaw Mafia and the Neighborhood Piru even though they are both Blood gangs.

  • Pimp D (Crenshaw Mafia Gang) - Alive.[citation needed] Pimp D and Tip Toe had a similar voice, but they are not the same person. Confirmed by fellow Bloods & Crips member redruM781 to be alive, not deceased as he was long thought to be.

  • Spyder aka S.P. (Crenshaw Mafia Gang) - Deceased. Spyder, named Billy John Hill, was another respected member of the 104th Street CMG. He was killed in July 14, 2000 at the age of 22. He was fatally shot at Hyde Park, at the corner of Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard, which is inside the turf of the Rollin 60's Neighborhood Crips street gang. [3]

  • O.G Mad Eye (Crenshaw Mafia Gang) - Deceased. Mad Eye was one of the oldest Damu Ridas and was a respected O.G of the Crenshaw Mafia Gang. Big Mad Eye had only one brother, Lil' Mad Eye. They both had been killed.[citation needed]

  • Lil' Hawk (Crenshaw Mafia Gang) - Lil' Hawk is currently serving a 25 to life sentence for murder. His little brother Tiny Hawk is also in jail. His brother Baby Hawk who appeared in the documentary Slob 187 Crab 187 was shot and killed at a park in the Valley by the Original Valley Gangsta Crips. His other brother Big Hawk is dead. [citation needed]

  • Big Hawk (Crenshaw Mafia Gang) - The older brother of Lil' Hawk. Has been killed.
