Michael Grandage

Michael Grandage was the Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres from 2000-2005. He directed a number of plays at the Sheffield Crucible including The Country Wife, As you like it, Edward II, Richard III and A Midsummer Nights Dream. A number of these plays werer characterised by 'name' actors appearing in the lead roles. Joseph Fiennes in Edward II, Kenneth Branagh in Richard III and Derek Jacobi in A Midsummer Nights Dream.

He is currently the Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse in London, where his productions have included outstanding reinterpretations of classic works like Camus' Caligula, Pirandello's Henry IV, and Ibsen's The Wild Duck, as well as the very best of new work - including plays by Patrick Marber and Mark Ravenhill.

His West End credits include Guys and Dolls and Evita. Grandage consistently works with his partner, Christopher Oram.
