Samples
Anthem has a sample from BBC's Richard Dimbleby's recorded impressions from when he visited the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp:[1]
- "Over an acre of ground lay dead and dying people."
It also features two samples of Italian fascist propaganda mottos:
- "Tempi migliori!" (Better times ahead!)
and:
- "Saluto al Duce!" (Salute to the Duce!)
Another historical quote is a sentence from British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain's September 3rd 1939 declaration of war against Germany broadcast by BBC:
- "this country is at war"
After Fire has samples taken from the movie Universal Soldier:[2]
- "Move in and secure the objective."
- "It's the only way to win this fucking war."
- "I'm gonna teach you the chain of command private!"
- "They just killed another hostage."
- "We have a mission to complete."
- "I'm giving the orders from now on."
- "Put the gun down!"
- "Say goodnight, asshole."
- "I think we should shoot her, in the head!"
- "Got you now, boy."
- "I'm looking for a deserter!"
And from the 1956 science fiction film Forbidden Planet:[3]
- "How soon will radar be operational?"
- "Operating right now, sir."
- "Good. Keep on it yourself."
- "Aye, aye, sir."
- "The M.A. alert is completed?"
- "Aye, aye, sir."
- "Fine. Activate-" (cut off, the full line is "activate main batteries")
Requiem QCN also features samples from Forbidden Planet:
- "Shall I shut down the current, sir?"
- "No. It's stopped now. Check over the whole system in the morning."
- "Aye, sir."
Outremer also features samples from Universal Soldier:
- "You must follow orders at all times."
- "Cease fire, cease fire!"
- "Begin phase two."
