On October 1, 2015, a mass shooting occurred at Umpqua Community College. Between ten and fifteen people were reportedly killed and twenty others were injured on the campus.Cite error: The <ref>

The first 9-1-1 call was reported at 10:38 a.m. PDT, from the Snyder Hall on the Campus.[5] According to a Douglas County Commissioner, the suspect has been apprehended.Cite error: The <ref>
