Second book
Your second book? What are they about? Pray tell czar ♔ 19:23, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
- @Czar: I write self-published fantasy fiction and have since I was 15. It's my hope someday I'll get picked up by a publisher and get to write a whole series; I self-published my first book in 2013 and this one is its sequel. The series is about a boy who has been asked by immortals to defend both his realm and theirs by defeating a fallen deity from years before, but of course it gets quite a bit more complex than that. If you'd like more information, I have a website for it all at http://www.conquestoftherealms.com . Red Phoenix let's talk... 00:59, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
List of Sega Genesis games
Hi Phoenix,
Great job at getting List of Sega Genesis games up to featured list status! I noticed that Battle Master wasn't linked, so I linked it, but then I noticed that the entry in the list says that the game was developed by Nick Pelling while the article about the game was developed by Personal Software Services. As far as I can tell, the sources in the list don't indicate the developer for this game. Also, Arena Entertainment is indicated in the list as the game's publisher, but the pipelink is to Mirrorsoft, an article that doesn't mention the name "Arena Entertainment". In the list, Arena Entertainment is sometimes pipelinked to the Mirrorsoft article and sometimes to Acclaim Entertainment. Do you know how to clear up these seeming inconsistencies? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Neelix (talk) 03:35, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
PS - Also, the list states that Frog Feast was released in 2007, but I don't see that information in the sources, and the source used on the article about the game states that the release date was 2005. Neelix (talk) 15:34, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
- @Neelix: At over 900 titles, I'm not surprised there's a few line by line errors here and there. I spent literally days getting it straight, and given its size I'm not surprised there are some minor errors. When I began work on this, I used what was pre-existent as a base. The Allgame lists can be tabbed into each game for developer, publisher, and year information (needless to say, I opted not to link every individual game), and the Sega lists in Japanese all list their developers and years as well, but in Japanese. I'd recommend delinking anything that isn't correct; I had to weed out a lot of piping issues when I worked through it and wouldn't be surprised that a few are still wrong. WikiCup 2014 August newsletter
The final of the 2014 WikiCup begins in a few short minutes! Our eight finalists are listed below, along with their placement in Round 4:
- Godot13 (submissions), a WikiCup newcomer, finished top of Pool A and was the round's highest scorer. Godot is a featured picture specialist, claiming large numbers of points due to high-quality scans of historical documents, especially banknotes.
- Casliber (submissions) is a WikiCup veteran, having been a finalist every year since 2010. In the semi-final, he was Pool B's highest scorer. Cas's points primarily come from articles on the natural sciences.
- Czar (submissions) was Pool A's runner-up. Czar's points come mostly from content related to independent video games, including both articles and topics.
- Adam Cuerden (submissions) was Pool B's runner-up. Another featured picture specialist, many of Adam's points come from the restoration of historical media. He has been a WikiCup finalist twice before.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions) won the WikiCup in 2012 and 2013, and enters this final as the first wildcard. She focuses on biology-related articles, and has worked on several high-importance articles.
- 12george1 (submissions) is the second wildcard. George's points come primarily from meteorology-related articles. This year and last year, George was the first person in the competition to score.
- Sturmvogel 66 (submissions), the third wildcard, was the 2010 champion and a finalist last year. His writes mostly on military history, especially naval history.
- Bloom6132 (submissions), the fourth and final wildcard, has participated in previous WikiCups, but not reached any finals. Bloom's points are mostly thanks to did you knows, featured lists and good articles related to sport and national symbols.
We say goodbye to this year's semi-finalists. Matty.007 (submissions), ThaddeusB (submissions), WikiRedactor (submissions), Figureskatingfan (submissions), Yellow Evan (submissions), Prism (submissions) and Cloudz679 (submissions) have all performed well to reach this stage of the competition, and we hope they will all be joining us again next year.
There are two upcoming competitions unrelated to the WikiCup which may be of interest to those who receive this newsletter. The Stub Contest will run through September, and revolves around expanding stub articles, especially high-importance or old stubs. In addition, a proposal has been made for a new competition, the GA Cup, which the organisers plan to run next year. This competition is based on the WikiCup and aims to reduce the good article review backlog.
There is now a thread for brainstorming on how next year's WikiCup competition should work. Please come along and share your thoughts- What works? What doesn't work? What needs changing? Signups for next year's competition will be open soon; we will be in touch. If, at this stage of the competition, you are keen to help the with the WikiCup, please do what you can to participate in review processes. Our finalists will find things much easier if the backlogs at good article candidates, featured article candidates, featured picture candidates and the rest are kept at a minimum. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! PlayStation
Thank you for your review for PlayStation. I'm sorry I couldn't have got more done in time and I agree with your closing of the GAN as it would probably take more time to address all of those issues! I will be happy to address them soon and re-structure the whole article. I think I should apologise for not doing more to it but I have been busy with other matters lately - I don't know anyone at WP:VG who would have more experience with consoles? I know enough about the original PlayStation but I wouldn't consider myself an expert on some matters such as technical specs! Anyway thanks for the review. I have a lot of personal motivation to get it up to GA, so I'll re-nominate as soon the article meets the criteria. Regards ☠ Jaguar ☠ 21:08, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Jaguar: I'm working on getting some sources together to help, compliments of some helpful users at the VG project's reference library. I've done a lot of console articles before, but if you're looking for someone who really knows a lot about the subject material, I would personally ask Indrian for a hand. He is immensely knowledgeable and very resourceful, and could be of great help with the project if he has the time to lend a hand. Red Phoenix let's talk... 21:12, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
The article Sega Pico you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Sega Pico for things which need to be addressed. Sega Pico
When you were writing Sega Pico, did you come across any sources for when it was discontinued in Japan (you have it as 2005)? I'm getting some flack at the Sega consoles FLC that the source I'm using that says the Beena was the successor to the Pico isn't enough to explicitly state that the Pico was discontinued on that date. --PresN 17:30, 23 September 2014 (UTC)
- Not really; in fact, the Sega Toys site had it listed running with Pico, which is quite unusual. I had presumed 2005 just because of the Beena; I don't have and to my knowledge there isn't a source that exists that explicitly lists the discontinuation date for Pico. GAN for U.S. Route 30 in Indiana
Hey, just wanted to check ahead of time with regards to whether or not you'll accept GA reviews from fellow road editors? Cheers, Floydian τ ¢ 11:20, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Floydian: I'd be glad to. I'm actually not much of a road editor myself—my focus area tends to be video games, but I like to dabble in roads every now and then. Red Phoenix let's talk... 12:26, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Re:Sega (and Sony) sources revisited
Sounds great. I hope there's no rush on these, though, because my schedule is jammed for the next two days and documenting all of the relevant material (I have probably over 200 magazines from this period) is going to be quite a task. It'll probably be at least a week before I have everything ready. In the meantime, I do have some leftover stuff related to the PSOne, which I captured inadvertently while scanning Saturn news: [1], [2]. If these contain anything new, I can dig up the page numbers and such for the citation templates. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 15:45, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
- @JimmyBlackwing: No rush; I appreciate all the help you're willing to give and in whatever time fashion you're able to make it happen in. Red Phoenix let's talk... 16:08, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
- I just went and retrieved all the magazines related significantly to the Dreamcast. Unfortunately, there are 50+ here, and ~100 pages to scan. Haven't even gotten to the PlayStation stuff yet. If it's okay with you, I'll just feed you scans from these gradually (maybe ~5 a day, starting tomorrow) over the next few weeks, before even touching the PlayStation materials. I'm more than happy to help, but the sheer size of this project means that it'll be slow going. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 23:37, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, absolutely. Like I said, no rush. It's getting into the busy season at work anyway, so no reason to be too speedy. Thank you for your hard work. Red Phoenix let's talk... 01:59, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- I opened up EGM September 1999 (issue 122) thinking there'd be a 6-7 page article on the Dreamcast. Ended up being a 23-page behemoth titled "It's Here... But Should You Buy One?". It seemed pointless to scan a single article in segments, so here it is in full:
- There was also a brief editorial on page 6. Hope these are useful. There's a lot more where this came from. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 23:07, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- Another article that ended up longer than expected. This one is "Dreamcast: The Full Story" in Next Generation September 1998 (issue 45):
- This looks like a solid one. Hope it's useful. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 22:10, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
- Today, it's bits and pieces from the earliest news about the Dreamcast, back when it was codenamed "Dural" and "Katana".
- Hope there's good material in these. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 02:54, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
- Goodness, you've been hard at work. Can't wait to review these; looks absolutely fantastic. Red Phoenix let's talk... 02:57, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
- No problem. And sorry about the delay today. Here are some more scraps from the Dreamcast's early period.
- EGM Nov 1997 (issue 100): page 22, page 24, page 32
- EGM Dec 1997 (issue 101) page 27
- EGM Jan 1998 (issue 102) page 34
- Next Generation July 1998 (issue 43): page 17, page 22
- Next Generation August 1998 (issue 44):
- Dreamcast: Performance details emerge, page 28
- E3: That was the show that was, page 21 (There was another page to this, but the Dreamcast was only mentioned here.)
- Movers and Shakers; Among gaming's warriors, page 24 (Ditto. Article analyzing the big three press conferences at E3.)
- The Console Wars of 1999: page 38, page 39, page 40, page 41, page 42, page 43, page 44, page 45 (Don't miss the article that runs along the bottom of each page.)
- There's still a ton of stuff left to scan. My initial 100-ish page estimate was way off: I probably have between 150 and 200 pages of Dreamcast-related material here—enough to write a book on the subject. I have no issue continuing to scan it, though, as long as it's useful. Be back tomorrow. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 06:56, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- Didn't have time to do more than six pages today:
- Next Generation October 1998 (issue 46), page 8
- EGM March 1998 (issue 104): page 26, page 27
- EGM April 1998 (issue 105): page 26, page 30
- EGM May 1998 (issue 106), page 23
- I'll try to start burning through these faster tomorrow. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 04:50, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
- Hey, like I said, no rush. You're doing fine; thank you for your hard work. Red Phoenix let's talk... 12:35, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
- Yet more scans.
- Next Gen 54 also has a 14-page feature on Dreamcast games in development, but it contains very little information about the console itself. If that sounds useful, I'll scan it in the next batch. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 03:53, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

- "The Great Blue Hope" by Crispin Boyer and John Davison: page 184, page 186, page 188, page 192, page 194, page 198, page 202, page 209, page 210
Second article deals with Sonic Adventure, but a lot of it relates to the Dreamcast and Sonic Adventure's strategic importance for the console. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 03:45, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry about the missed days; I'll be back in the saddle tomorrow. Only around 23 magazines left. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 07:24, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

- EGM Feb 1999 (issue 115): page 26, page page 27
- EGM Mar 1999 (issue 116), page 29
- EGM Dec 1999 (issue 125), page 58
- Looks like I'm finally on the home stretch. Should be done with these in the next 7-10 days. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 06:51, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
- A bunch more:
- EGM Jan 2000 (issue 126): page 150, page 151, page 152, page 153, page 154, page 163, page 194 (article: "The Slick 50")
- Next Generation Feb 1999 (issue 50): page 12, page 13, page 14, page 15, page 29
- Next Generation March 1999 (issue 51): page 21, page 24, page 25, page 26, page 27, page 78, page 79, page 80, page 81
- I think I'll focus on clearing out the last EGM issues tomorrow, before getting to the rest. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 04:10, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
- I know this apologizing-for-the-delay stuff is getting old, but here it is again. I've been pretty bad at managing my time in the last few days. I'll dedicate tomorrow to scanning the rest of the EGM issues—regardless of how long it takes—, which should make up for lost time. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 04:03, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
- The last of the EGMs, with a Game Informer for good measure:
- EGM March 2000 (issue 128): page 42
- EGM June 2000 (issue 131): page 30, page 144, page 145, page 146, page 147, page 148, page 149, page 150, page 151, page 154, page 155, page 156, page 157
- EGM March 2001 (issue 140): page 2, page 26, page 27
- EGM April 2001 (issue 141): page 2, page 24, page 25
- EGM May 2001 (issue 142): page 22, page 23
- EGM August 2001 (issue 145): page 100
- Game Informer March 2001 (issue 95): page 16
- Although I called this the last of the EGMs, I just noticed a longish article on console network play in EGM 142, which features significant material about the Dreamcast. I'll include it in the next batch. Aside from that, though, it's Next Generation from here on out. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 06:13, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
- More:
- EGM May 2001 (issue 142): page 92, page 93, page 94, page 95, page 96, page 97, page 98, page 99

- Next Gen September 1999 (Lifecycle 2, vol. 1 issue 1): page 51, page 52, page 54, page 55, page 56, page 57
- Next Gen November 1999 (Lifecycle 2, vol. 1 issue 3): page 9, page 10, page 14
- Only around 5 magazines left. Hard to believe it took this long, but I think it'll be worth it. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 05:22, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
- Three more magazines:
- Two issues left. It's incredible how many words were written about this system—and how few of them were redundant. I'd guess that at least 60% of the material I've scanned is non-overlapping, which is huge when you consider the page count. Hopefully the size of this trove is more exciting than it is intimidating; I'm not sure how I'd handle a subject with this many sources. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 06:30, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
- Final mags:
- It's been a long road, but we've finally reached the end. I hope that all of this material will be worth the wait. One note: that "Dreamcast: The One Year Index" box comes at the end of a 12 page summary of every Dreamcast game released or in development by September 2000. I didn't think it would be necessary to scan all of it, but let me know if there's something specific that you need. Good luck with the article. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 04:54, 23 September 2014 (UTC)

Let me know when or if you still want the PlayStation sources. Given the amount of material you have to wade through already (I counted 200+ pages), I didn't assume that you'd want more right away. I'm ready to go whenever, though. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 21:02, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

- You're very welcome. Based on the incredible work you've done on other Sega console articles, I can't wait to read Dreamcast. Also, if you ever end up working on PSO, I should tell you that there was a lot more on the game than what I scanned—I tried to only grab material that looked relevant to the console. Good luck with your rewrite. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 17:46, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Dreamcast sales sources
Here's some leftover stuff I had in my sandbox:
Three million Dreamcast units have been sold in North America, which is far below the company's original expectations. There will be no more units rolling off the production line, but the company, will continue to market and support it for another year.
- Sega kills Dreamcast production
- Sutton, Neil. Computer Dealer News17.5 (Mar 2, 2001): 31.
A total of 3.39 million hardware units and 23.87 million software units were sold worldwide during fiscal 2001, for respective totals of 8.20 million units and 51.63 million units since Dreamcast was first brought to market [3]
After two-years of struggle, Sega decided to pull the plug on Dreamcast production in January and concentrate instead on its traditional strength of game software development. "We want to sell our games on popular machines," said another Sega official. Total shipments of PlayStation 2, since its launch of early 2000, reached 10 million units by March and is expected to top 30 million by March 2002. Sega sold some two million units of Dreamcast in Japan and four million abroad. The inventory of Dreamcast was also brought down to 100,000 units from two million at the start of 2001, they added.

- Jiji Press English News Service [Tokyo] 05 June 2001: 1.
Sega sold approximately 83,500 Dreamcast units in June, according to an analyst who studied NPD TRSTS Video Game Group data. But the former first-party console maker is still overstocked with unsold Dreamcast inventory and wants to get rid of the remaining consoles.

Sega Corp. will stop shipments of its Dreamcast video game console in early November, Chief Operating Officer Tetsu Kayama said Tuesday. The final round of shipments will be to the U.S. market. Kayama said the company expects Dreamcast's accumulated shipments to surpass the 10 million threshold. Sega had inventories of some two million units in February. Since the announcement of production suspension in March, Sega has been selling the console for 9,900 yen, 10,000 yen below the regular price. The company slashed its domestic inventories to 40,000 units by September.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dreamcast, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Rosen. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hey, no pressure if you don't have the time or motivation, but Freedom Planet's peer review has laid barren for a week now. You seem to have some interest in the Classic Sonic era, which this game is modeled after, so would you be able to leave a few comments? List of Sega Saturn Games
Hello again, Red Phoenix. You've done a hell of a lot of work on the List of Sega Genesis Games page. If it was convenient, would you mind giving the List of Sega Saturn games page a look over? Here is the problem I am having...
The List of Sega Genesis Games has the Compact ToC template, which allows a user to click on any letter in the box, say, the letter 'S', and the list would immediately jump the user down into the list where the game titles begin with the letter 'S'. Using this page as a model, I'm trying to make the List of Sega Saturn Games page do likewise, but it's not working, and I can't seem to spot where the trouble is. Would you be able to tell me what I need to fix in order to make the Compact ToC work on the List of Sega Saturn Games page?
Your assistance is much appreciated - thank you for your time.
Christopher, Salem, OR (talk) 00:56, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- @DeNoel: What you're missing is some text in the table itself. Essentially the Compact ToC needs tags to identify where it needs to jump to; these tags are present in List of Sega Genesis games but not in List of Sega Saturn games. For example, the first game beginning with the letter "B" has the text "<span id="B"></span>" after the row scope parameter but right before the title of the first game beginning with the letter B. So, the simple solution is to create 26 new tags - one for each letter at the first game beginning with that letter. Hope that helps. Red Phoenix let's talk... 01:20, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your assistance. :D I did not notice this because it appears the same can be said for the List of Sega Genesis Games page. The numbers and Letter 'A' games are both missing the tag you've described, and I didn't test those ToC tags on that page to make sure they were working.

Hey, it doesn't look to me like you're excessively busy, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking a look at the FAC for Freedom Planet. I don't foresee this one getting a whole lot of comments anytime soon, and you seem to like older Sonic, which this is related to. Just something to consider if you're around. - I can try, but I'm still not totally freed up. It turns out I won't be leaving anytime soon, which gets rid of a lot of the stress, but it is still the busy season at work, to the point I haven't started working on any new articles - I've only had time to leave a couple of comments and keep some things updated. I will try to have a look sometime soon, though. Red Phoenix let's talk... 15:06, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

FA congratulations
Just a quick note to congratulate you on the promotion of Master System to FA status recently. If you would like to see this (or any other FA) appear as "Today's featured article" soon (either on a particular date or on any available date), please nominate it at the requests page. If you'd like to see an FA appear on a particular date in the next year or so, please add it to the "pending" list. In the absence of a request, the article may end up being picked at any time (although with about 1,287 articles waiting their turn at present, there's no telling how long – or short! – the wait might be). If you'd got any TFA-related questions or problems, please let me know. BencherliteTalk 10:46, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
WikiCup 2015 is just around the corner...
Hello everyone, and may we wish you all a happy holiday season. As you will probably already know, the 2015 WikiCup begins in the new year; there is still time to sign up. We have a few important announcements concerning the future of the WikiCup.
- We would like to announce that Josh (J Milburn) and Ed (The ed17), who have been WikiCup judges since 2009 and 2010 respectively, are stepping down. This decision has been made for a number of reasons, but the main one is time. Both Josh and Ed have found that, over the previous year, they have been unable to devote the time necessary to the WikiCup, and it is not likely that they will be able to do this in the near future. Furthermore, new people at the helm can only help to invigorate the WikiCup and keep it dynamic. Josh and Ed will still be around, and will likely be participating in the Cup this following year as competitors, which is where both started out.
- In a similar vein, we hope you will all join us in welcoming Jason (Sturmvogel 66) and Christine (Figureskatingfan), who are joining Brian (Miyagawa) to form the 2015 WikiCup judging team. Jason is a WikiCup veteran, having won in 2010 and finishing in fifth this year. Christine has participated in two WikiCups, reaching the semi-finals in both, and is responsible for the GA Cup, which she now co-runs.
- The discussions/polls concerning the next competition's rules will be closed soon, and rules changes will be made clear on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring and talk pages. While it may be impossible to please everyone, the judges will make every effort to ensure that the new rules are both fair and in the best interests of the competition, which is, first and foremost, about improving Wikipedia.
If you have any questions or concerns, the judges can be reached on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, on their talk pages, or by email. We hope you will all join us in trying to make the 2015 WikiCup the most productive and enjoyable yet. You are receiving this message because you are listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. WikiCup 2015 launch newsletter
Round one of the 2015 WikiCup has begun! So far we've had around 80 signups, which close on February 5. If you have not already signed up and want to do so, then you can add your name here. There have been changes to to several of the points scores for various categories, and the addition of Peer Reviews for the first time. These will work in the same manner as Good Article Reviews, and all of the changes are summarised here.
Remember that only the top 64 scoring competitors will make it through to the second round, and one of the new changes this year is that all scores must be claimed within two weeks of an article's promotion or appearance, so don't forget to add them to your submissions pages! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! Sega topic
Like many people, I'm impressed by your work with the Sega consoles. Wonder if any time you think of nominating something like this... igordebraga ≠ 18:49, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Igordebraga: I've considered it. Personally I don't think I deserve as much credit for it as I get, but it's a nice set that would be worthy. One major issue that needs fixed before this stage, though, is the archiving of all of the Allgame links since the site went down, and I went through and did a bunch already but know there's some danglers. Sega CD and Sega 32X could conceivably fit into this topic as well, as could Sega Nomad, but I would certainly also see reason to exclude those three. I'd like to see it happen, but as of the current moment I haven't been on Wikipedia much lately; I do another writing project as well and it's been so fruitful that it takes up most of my time and energy when I'm not working, but I've thought about this and would love to see it happen. WikiCup 2015 March newsletter
That's it, the first round is done, sign-ups are closed and we're into round 2. 64 competitors made it into this round, and are now broken into eight groups of eight. The top two of each group will go through to round 3, and then the top scoring 16 "wildcards" across all groups. Round 1 saw some interesting work on some very important articles, with the round leader Freikorp (submissions) owing most of his 622 points scored to a Featured Article on the 2001 film Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within which qualified for a times-two multiplier. This is a higher score than in previous years, as Godot13 (submissions) had 500 points in 2014 at the end of round 1, and our very own judge, Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) led round 1 with 601 points in 2013.
In addition to Freikorp's work, some other important articles and pictures were improved during round one, here's a snapshot of a few of them:
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions) took Bumblebee, a level-4 vital article, to Good Article;
- AHeneen (submissions) worked-up the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 article, also to Good Article status;
- Rodw (submissions) developed an extremely timely article to Good Article, taking Magna Carta there some 800 years after it was first sealed;
- And last but not least, Godot13 (submissions) (FP bonus points) worked up a number of Featured Pictures during round 1, including the 1948 one Deutsche Mark (pictured right), receiving the maximum bonus due to the number of Wikis that the related article appears in.
You may also wish to know that The Core Contest is running through the month of March. Head there for further details - they even have actual prizes!
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck!
