Ahn So-hee (Korean: 안소희; Chinese: 安昭熙; Japanese: アンソヒ, born June 27, 1992), commonly known by her stage name Sohee, is a South Korean idol actress, singer, dancer, model and MC. She was the visual, and former member of the popular South Korean girl group Wonder Girls, which debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2007.

Life and career

Early life and music career

Sohee was born on June 27, 1992.[1] She was selected through auditions and at the age of 12, she became a JYP trainee. During her pre-debut, Sohee and other two members Yeeun and Sunmi performed a cover of Janet Jackson's "Together Again". In 2007, Sohee made her debut with the Wonder Girls, a girl group managed by JYP Entertainment after two years of training. The group debuted with the single "Irony", featuring Sohee as a dancer and vocalist with the group.[2]

In an official JYP Entertainment announcement, it was revealed Sohee would not renew her contract with the company, thus ending her six-year membership as part of the Wonder Girls.[3] Her contract with the company expired on December 21, 2013.[4]

Model career

Sohee is also an accomplished model, and has shown great interest in both acting and modeling outside of Wonder Girls. She has been featured in various fashion magazines, including Numero, Vogue[5][6] Elle Girl[7][8] COSMOPOLITAN[9][10] CeCi[11][12] Dazed & Confused[13][14] Oh Boy![15][16] Marie Claire and W[17]

In 2011, Sohee was chosen as one of the faces of Lancome’s newest cosmetic line, “Visionnaire.” She was complimented by Lancome staff, who noted that she was “naturally confident,” and used a “variety of stunning facial expressions,” as well as for the maturity she displayed while filming.[18][19]

At the beginning of 2012, Sohee, along with DBSK member Yunho, 2PM member Nichkhun, former f(x) member Sulli, actress Lee Min-jung, actor Jang Hyuk, Park Joong-hoon & Ahn Sung-ki, participated in the Good Download campaign.

Sohee appeared in a pictorial for the famous international make up brand "MAC". In the same year, Tommy Hilfiger also selected Sohee to be the 2012 Tommy Hilfiger model.[20][21] In 2015, Sohee is the new model for SHU UEMURA, and REEBOK CLASSIC Korea.

On June 25, Sohee was sidelined for a month after tearing a knee ligament in a fall from a running motorcycle during the filming of her movie Hellcats . The remaining four members continued performing until late July.[citation needed] In 2012, Sohee with her fellow members acted in The Wonder Girls Movie. This was their first movie in the United States. In 2013, Sohee acted in the KBS Drama Special Happy! Rose Day.

In 2014, after leaving Wonder Girls and former agency JYP Entertainment, Sohee signed with the management agency, BH Entertainment.[22] In 2014, November 4, Sohee acted in tvN drama Heart To Heart. In 2015, March 24, Sohee got the role in a new movie called Busan Bound together with JYP Entertainment actor Choi Woo Shik.
