Blood Has Been Shed was a mathcore group from Connecticut, formed in 1997. They are popularly known for having in the band both one current and one former member of Killswitch Engage, Justin Foley and Howard Jones respectively, though both groups have quite different styles. Blood has been Shed was one of the first deathcore bands and is widely credited with starting the genre. They have released three albums to date: I Dwell on Thoughts of You in 1999, Novella of Uriel in 2001, and Spirals in 2003. They split up in 2004 when Jones and Foley joined Killswitch Engage.
