Unofficial Releases/Changes 8.12.06

I removed Forbidden Paradise 1,2,8-11 from the discography. The reason being was that Tiesto did not take part in the early and later part of the FP series. Those compilations were done by different DJs. For verification, please see this website: Guardian Angel/Basic BeatDragnilar 10:55, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The changes below were from 8.7.06 The following releases added to Tiesto's solo artist discography are not "official" releases. The Best & New 2005 (2005) was a compilation of tracks released only in Russia by a label other than Tiesto's. As for Heiniken thirst, as far as I can tell that is just a bootleg. I have moved these releases to a section titled "Bootlegs/Unofficial Releases" for the time being. Also "In My Memory - Remixes" was only a single and was not a full fledged remix album for In My Memory. It only featured remixes for the song "In My Memory" itself. I can understand however how someone would have made this mistake since the title of the relase seems to imply it is a remix album for the ALBUM In My Memory. Anyway, I have moved the single "In My Memory -Remixes" to the singles section.

A remix album for "In My Memory" does exist however, but it is found as the second disk on the special edition releases of In My Memory. Perhaps a note could be made of the special edition?

Nyana was moved to the compilations section since it was blatently a compilation. It is NOT an artist album.

Also,

If you look underneath his mix compilations listings I added ISOS 6 as an upcoming release. The fliers for the album have already started circulating in other countries, and if you check www.insearchofsunrise.net, it also says the album is forthcoming.

And finaly, I believe that Silence should be noted somewhere in his Discography. I went ahead and added a note for it in the singles section. Perhaps we should add a "remixes/appears on" section similar to Discogs? Dragnilar 14:05, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Newly Edited Article

Hello to any tiesto fans reading this page. i've edited the page vigourously for grammar and information. it lacked cohesion and i didn't think it really represented tiesto's quality as an artist, so as a huge fan and a good university writer i edited the page almost like it was new. hopefully everyone likes it! --154.5.80.90 07:07, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Could anyone tell me please who is the one that sings in Tiesto's melody A tear in the open? --Locke 23:15, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe he used a sample from some other source. I think it tells you where on the liner notes for the CD. If not there, I'll try to recall where. --Dragnilar 12:57, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"His 4th album In Search of Sunrise series contains some of the more artistically worthy trance records and is mixed by Tiësto so well it releases the listener into the warmth and energy of Ibiza and Latin America." This business about "warmth and energy of Ibiza and Latin America" is highly POV. This is an encyclopedia guys, not a fan page, but I'm not going to start an edit war. Do what you want. -anon

Pronunciation

As far as I can tell, his DJ name is pronounced: tchesto. I can't figure out IPA, but I think it would be useful to put on this page. Also, I have no clue how to say the dude's first name.--Slashdevslashtty 03:49, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Over here in The Netherlands it is pronounced TEE-esto
And his first name is pronounced "Tice", more or less :P --NoobX
Thanks for the response. The announcer in a techno song pronounced it the way I described above. What you're describing is how an American would pronounce it, except with slightly different emphasis. Still, the IPA key would be useful. I get confused when they start talking about things like "voiced labialized palatal approximant".--Slashdevslashtty 05:18, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As NoobX said, it is pronounced Tea-S-Toe. Numerous members of the forum on his official site can confirm this, and I do believe at a time the FAQ on his site confirmed this as well.--Dragnilar 13:10, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

naming

According to wikipedia naming convention, this article should be named Tiesto and not Tijs Verwest. Any thoughts? Themindset 04:41, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe the picture of Tijs is copyrighted

I think the picture shown on the right side of the page should be changed, because it has a dvd-video symbol in the bottom right hand side of it, so it must be a part of a dvd cover and it means that's a copyrighted material. My 2 cents. :)
