Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. "as of" in Asperger's syndrome
Hi Kranix,
You reverted my past tense to the present in the the phrase "..Asperger's is estimated to affect 31 million people as of 2013."
I disagree. Where do you find evidence that this phrase should use the present tense?
In my opinion "..as of 2013.." should be typically used for, say, something that is valid forever afterwards and the verb should be in the past tense.
I think it unlikely that the figure of 31 million people affected by Asperger syndrome will stay the same forever.
So, in my opinion, the phrase should be "....in 2013, 31 million people were affected by Aspeger's."
I used https://painintheenglish.com/case/4162/ and http://blog.harwardcommunications.com/2012/04/02/as-of/ as sources.
Do you agree? SylviaStanley (talk) 11:27, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
