Mr. Gupta had decided to marry Bharati to Dr. Mohan, who did not like the intimacy between Bharati and Arun. But before he could rebuke her on that account he had come to know Arun is none other than his younger brother Sohan. Since he had promised Kamataprasad not to divulge that secret to Arun, he returned to Calcutta. The marriage of Arun & Bharati has been settled and the ceremony has to take place after the return of Zamindar's couple from Pashupatinath. But unfortunately there they find their long lasting child Suraj after 17 years. From the then attitude of Sharada Devi has been changed towards Arun. In spite of Zamindar's endeavor, it was disclosed on Arun that he was their adopted child, he leaves the house in search of his real parent.

At the same time, Mamta is seriously ill and asks Dinu to bring Sohan back. Dinu goes to the Zamindar's house where he meets a young man who identifies himself as the real son, Suraj, and informs him that Sohan has been asked to leave, devastated Dinu loses his memory and roams listlessly on the streets of Calcutta, unable to remember anything.
