A fact from this article was featured on Wikipedia's Main Page in the On this day section on November 30, 2008, November 30, 2009, November 30, 2010, November 30, 2011, November 30, 2012, and November 30, 2013. |
I removed a Citation Needed dated Nov 2012 that was at the beginning of the St. Andrew's Eve section. It was formatted badly without closing brackets, and so covered the whole section. I removed it because it was impossible to know if it referred to a specific piece of information, or to everything about the Eve.

St Andrew's Day commemorated in Google doodle

The Romanian information is about an entirely different holiday: St John's Eve rather than St. Andrew's Eve. An understandable mistake.

St Andrew's Day is a very popular feast day in Poland (Andrzejki). I can say it's a polish equivalent of Halloween. Although, today it's more just an occasion to party, there's many interesting traditional magical rituals related to celebration of this day, which should be mentioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.161.44.204 (talk) 10:53, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

St. Andrew's Day → Saint Andrew's Day – To replace the abbrevation. Chicbyaccident (talk) 17:25, 12 December 2015 (UTC) Relisted. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 03:32, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
- Support WP:COMMONALITY to avoid editwars about the grammatical dot at "St. / St" due to English dialects -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 07:08, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
Support fully the replacement of abbreviations by clear informative full names. Peco Wikau (talk) 22:07, 17 December 2015 (UTC).BLOCKED SOCKPUPPET- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. The overwhelming majority of sources use "St." Also, please note that I started a sock puppet investigation of the proposer, the anon IP above, and Peco Wikau; both the IP and that account appear to be socks of Chicbyaccident. - Support avoiding the contested abbreviation in these cases. Srnec (talk) 13:36, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. Google says 450k vs 52k. Alsee (talk) 16:46, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
