Miguel Ferrer
Miguel Ferrer born (February 7, 1955) in Santa Monica, California is a Puerto Rican-American actor who is usually cast in movies as a villian.
Miguel was the oldest of five children born to Oscar winner Jose Ferrer and singer Rosemary Clooney-Ferrer. Miguel was raised amongst all the splender and glamour of Hollywood. As a child, his hero was Batman and as a teenager his interests shifted towards music. He began carving a path as a studio musician. Miguel played the drums on Keith Moon's Two Sides of the Moon. Band mate Billy Mumy ("Will Robinson" on the T.V. clasic Lost In Space) cast him in his first television role in the series Sunshine. Miguel played a drummer and only took the role because Mumy talked him into it.
In 1983, Miguel was given a small part as a waiter in the movie The Man Who Wasn't There. Since then, Miguel has been cast in many major movies, usually in the role of villian. Among some of the movies he has starred in are: Robocop (1987); Valentino Returns (1988), where he plays a sinister biker; Deep Star Six (1989) as a mad scientist; Revenge (1990) where he plays sidekick to Kevin Costner; Night Flier (1997), a Stephen King thriller and The Manchurian Candidate (2004) in which he plays an Army officer who challenges the lead character (Denzel Washington).
Among the many televison shows in which Miguel has made quest appearences are: Miami Vice, CHiPs, Will and Grace, Superman, Tales from the Crypt and Twin Peaks. Miguel played the role of Dr. Garret Macy in NBC's drama Crossing Jordon.
In 2003, Miguel made his New York stage debut in the Off-Broadway production of The Exonerated. He is currently starring in the film The Man, which should be released in 2005.
Miguel is divorced and has two sons. His cousin is actor George Clooney and his brother Gabriel Ferrer is married to singer Debby Boone. Miguel was close friends with actress Dominique Dunne and served as a pallbearer in her funeral.
In 1999, at the 41st Grammy Awards, Miguel was nominated for "Best Spoken Word Album for Children" in Disney's The Lion King II, "Simba's Pride Read-Along".
Miguel loves to golf and ski, and every year he helps to organize a golf tournament fundraiser for the UCLA-Childrens Hospital. He also finds time to play club dates with Mumy and Bill Murray and their band "The Jeneraltors".
