The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Crystal Movers C810 is an Automated People Mover train serving the Sengkang LRT Line and Punggol LRT Line in Singapore. The train has been operating since 18 January 2003, with its first service on the Sengkang East Loop.
The C810 was developed and built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in cooperation with Crystal Mover bodywork, the same companies that developed the Changi Airport Skytrain. The trains were developed for airport and light rail applications and are fully automatic and driverless, using Automatic Train Control (ATC) technology. Singapore's Light Rail Transit purchased 41 C810s to be used on the Sengkang LRT Line and Punggol LRT Line. Currently 16 of the 41 existing trains are undergoing modifications to be made into two carriage vehicles which will allow them to meet future demand for the Sengkang and Punggol LRT lines.
Train design
The exterior design is black on top, navy blue at the bottom and has the SBS Transit logo in white on it. The serial numbers of the trains are on the left side of the train at the front and back. The seat colors are blue. There are smart windows to mist the HDB Flats. Both the windshield wipers and emergency doors were specially designed for the LRT.
The interior of the Sengkang and Punggol LRT trains are significantly different from the Bukit Panjang LRT trains, with an information display on the ceiling instead of on top of the doors, and no front seats which allow a forward view out of the train, reducing the seating to 16 from 18.
