Laurence Treil

Laurence Treil (born 1967) is a French model and actress who was also a Revlon Spokesmodel from 1980-1989.

Life and career

Treil had health issues as a child. She developed a brain tumor at the age of 10 and had brain surgery at age 26, but survived after an extended period of hospitalization.

Treil was a successful model in the 1980s, appearing in a number of ad campaigns and on magazine covers including Glamour, Madame, Cosmopolitan, Globe and Madame Figaro. Her career was managed by Prestige agency in France and American Model Management in the USA. She modeled for Balmain, and filed a sexual harassment complaint against the president of the company in 1997.[1]

In 1985 Treil appeared in two music videos to promote singles by singer Bryan Ferry which were highly successful. These short films plus video ads attracted attention that led to an acting career. Treil appeared in her first film in 1989, playing La Vouivre in a film of the same name.

Treil is an avid skydiver. In 2004 she became vice president of the EVA Association which aims to assist people recovering from debilitating illness through experiences in adventurous sports.[2]
