Outlaws is the first studio album by American southern rock band Outlaws, released in 1975. (See 1975 in music). The album is known for the rock classic "Green Grass & High Tides", and hit single "There Goes Another Love Song". "Green Grass & High Tides" appeared in the video game, [Rock Band).

Despite its success, it remains one of the more underrated rock albums. Even Though it gets categorized mostly in the Southern Rock genre, it is truly one of the greatest Country Rock albums ever released. Plus "Green Grass & High Tides" is sometimes grouped under hard rock. Due to solid songwriting, outstanding guitar work, tight harmonies, and high energy, the album did receive rave reviews upon its release.

Drawing influences from Southern Rock bands The Allman Brothers & Lynyrd Skynyrd, as well as Country Rock bands The Byrds, Poco, Eagles, and New Riders of The Purple Sage, they had developed a quick pickin', hard driving country rock sound. Most of this was due to the unique guitar style of Hughie Thomasson. Lynyrd Skynyrd incorporated Thomasson's guitar sound into their huge 1978 hit "That Smell". In fact Hughie Thomasson would eventually join Skynyrd (1996-2005) and jammed that lead section on the song during concerts.

You can hear some influences from the Outlaws debut album in 1980s Alternative Rock bands, Beat Farmers, Hoodoo Gurus, and Jason & The Scorchers, which fused hard driving country rock, with elements of punk rock.
