Origin

Jura Falconis is the scientific student-edited law review of the KU Leuven Faculty of Law. It was founded by a group of students from the Law Faculty of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven who, in 1964, conceived the idea of producing their own law journal grafted on the famous American law reviews. Since then, Jura Falconis has grown into a very solid and most unique value in the Belgian legal literature.

Award

Every year, Jura Falconis organizes the Jura Falconis Prijs, an award for the best legal dissertation. Students from all Flemish law faculties can send in their dissertations, which are judged by a jury of Professors of Law, among whom a judge in the Court of cassation (Belgium's highest instance court).
