Sequel
Will there ever be a second sequel of this beautiful game? --195.210.216.199 12:05, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- I highly doubted. Agtaz 07:17, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- Man, were you wrong :D

Mafia 2 is cooming out as of 2010.
Weapon List
I think the "bucket" should be removed from the weapon list. In the "Happy Birthday" mission, Tommy actually uses his fists in fighting, even when holding the bucket. Since he's holding the bucket while punching, it appears as if he's using the bucket as a weapon. -Achiu31 16:46, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

I don't see a version 1.3 at the game's homepage. 212.66.81.79 00:38, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- I downloaded what appeared to be 1.2 from FilePlanet and it turned out to be 1.3. — Jeremy | Talk 04:06, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yes there is 1.3 on the homepage, but it's only for the English version. └ VodkaJazz/talk┐ 12:15, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- I am still confused about the patch numbering as well. Quite often it says 1.2 and it turns out to be 1.3. I'm asking myself if 1.2 even exists?

I don't know where this would go, but it is interesting trivia: Although the game refers to Molotovs, it would be impossible for them to bear this name considering the time setting; the phrase 'Molotov cocktail' was coined by Finnish military for their petrol bombs after the Russian invasion in 1939.
- From the Wikipedia article about Molotov Cocktail: The heavily-outnumbered Finnish Army, facing Red Army tanks in what came to be known as the Winter War, borrowed an improvised incendiary device design from the 1936-39 Spanish Civil War; <-- This was during the build-up of WWII, during the "Winter War", which took place in 1939/1940. This proves that the Molotov Cocktail has been designed during 1936-1939, and that it was used again during the Winter War in 1939/1940. The Winter War article states that "it gained fame" as "Molotov Cocktail" (during the Winter War), considering that the Winter War took place in 1939/1940, the term was not known in 1930-1938 (Mafia); the device was known from somewhere between 1936-1939, but the name Molotov Cocktail first existed in 1939/1940, so I think you are right. If you think this is worth mentioning, please add it to the article.

should it be mentioned the trolley driver is relentless and coldly runs you over if you're standing on the tracks, without doing so much as to lift a finger to slow down? Or in freeride, mobsters in vehicles who are provoked rev their engines to 100,000 RPM? Great, intelligent fun game. Swatoa 07:26, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
- I hope you realise he trys to slow down, but to attempt and succeed to slow down a trolley going at high speed is extremely hard in the 1930's and 40's versions.

The racing mission isn't hard at all, not even on the 1.0 version. It took me maybe 5 tries the first time, and now I can win it easily, no problem. You just have to brake before most corners, and tap the arrow keys (if you are using keyboard). Don't keep them pressed down, and don't keep the accelerator pressed right after a corner; tap is with short intervals. Piece of cake, try it yourself. Will be harder for people who are used to games like Need For Speed, which aren't real racing games.
Character names
Most of the characters of the game have their names based on Al Capone's brothers, like Ralph, for example. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.58.10.122 (talk) 16:42, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
The City of Lost Heaven?
I think, the game is called just "Mafia" not "Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven". See mobygames too. --89.56.2.150 (talk) 21:16, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Console versions
For what it's worth, the phrasing in the Console section is pretty bad English. "Many of the features of the PC version do not exist in the console port, such as police patrols around the city, realism, graphics, details etc." -- while it's clear what is meant, this pretty much says that realism, graphics and details do not exist in the console port. It makes sense to say that the games' graphics, details and realism were reduced in the portation, or that certain graphic details are missing from the PC version. ~ Matt —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.49.241.227 (talk) 10:18, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Removed 'multiplayer mode' from front page
There's a development version of a multiplayer mode, but it seems it's currently on hold (http://www.mafia-mp.com). There's no multiplayer mode in the game itself. There was going to be, and there's still some network code left in the shipped version, but you have to run a hacked version of the game to be able to play it (and it's not complete at all). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Megakakehode (talk • contribs) 18:52, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- On mafia-mp.com I get "This Account Has Been Suspended" but on http://whois.domaintools.com/mafia-mp.com I see a thumbnail from 2010-01-10, anyone knows what's the deal? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.118.180.233 (talk) 13:46, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
Does anyone know any information on the vehicles in this game
Does anyone know what vehicles are in this game, what the hell is the Lassiter made from, did they just make that up.
Well, i think they based them on real-life vehicles, but they just made up the names. ("Bolt Ace" is based on the first Ford car)
Xinjinbei 20:35, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, that is right. All is on the czech wiki. But there aren´t any sources. I imported this here:

List of game cars is there too. Nabulcar (talk) 16:21, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
Minor offences
In addition to the general overhaul this article desperately needs, I would propose changing the sentence on the police booking players for "minor offences". Running red lights and speeding are not minor offences to someone who actually drives, and not just plays GTA. They might be "minor" compared to what you can get away with in other games - that's the way it should be put if it stays in the article at all. 62.167.105.246 (talk) 15:48, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Sandbox
Is this game a sandbox?
