This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Introscop (talk | contribs) at 00:45, 1 March 2016 (Undid revision 707642953 by 71.245.61.106 (talk)). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

In Wikipedia and other MediaWiki projects, Special:Random can be used to access a random article in the main namespace; this feature is useful as a starting point for browsing Wikipedia, playing the Wikipedia game, or if you just want to learn a new interesting piece of information.

Depending on your browser, it's also possible to load a random page using a keyboard shortcut (in Firefox, Edge, and Chrome Alt-Shift+X).

To create a link to a random page in a different namespace, use [[Special:Random/Namespace]].

For example, Special:Random/Talk will take you to a random article's talk page.

Display a random page in other namespaces:

Article Talk User Talk Wikipedia Talk File Talk MediaWiki Talk Template Talk Help Talk Topic Talk
Category Talk Portal Talk Book Talk Draft Talk Education Program Talk TimedText Talk Module Talk

Display a random redirect in other namespaces:

Main Talk User Talk Wikipedia Talk File Talk MediaWiki Talk Template Talk Help Talk Category Talk Portal Talk [[Special:Randomredirect/|]] Talk

If you are wondering if the "random article" feature is really random, read the answer here.
