2016 Tel Aviv stabbings

On 8 March 2016, a Palestinian killed an American tourist and wounded ten other in a stabbing spree in the harbor district of Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Israel. The assailant was shot and subdued by the police.[1] The attack happened while US Vice President Joe Biden met with Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres.[2] According to the police the assailant first attacked persons in the harbor and later went to a restaurant where four more persons were wounded. According to ambulance personel, five of the victims are seriously wounded.[2] Palestinian Islamic fundamentalist organization Hamas said that they welcomed the attack as one of a string of attacks occurring within hours in Petah Tikva and Jerusalem. Three people were wounded in those two attacks.[1]
