Bhimber

Bhimber is the chief town of Bhimber District, Azad Kashmir. It is situated on the border with azad kashmir and pakistan at a distance of about 50 km from Mirpur, Azad Kashmir and about 166 km from Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Bhimber was declared independent district in 1996. Earlier,it was sub-division of Mirpur District which is located at a distance of about 50 km from Bhimber city. It falls on the route that was followed by the Mughal Emperors for their frequent visits to the Kashmir Valley.
