Al Da Flaga

Fictional Background
He was Mu La Flaga's father, a Natural, and an extremely influential and affluent Atlantic Federation politician from Canada. He is also suspected of being a Newtype or, at the very least, one of the only people alive who possessed Newtype genes. His relation with Mu La Flaga, however, was strained at best. This was due to a falling out with Mu's mother and their subsequent divorce. Because of this, he did not want his fortune to be inherited by Mu, whom he believed to be an impure son, "tainted" by the inferior DNA of a mother. He made a deal with Kira Yamato's father, Professor Ulen Hibiki, to make a clone of him in exchange for research grants. This way his fortune would go to someone he approves of—a son who is an exact copy of himself. However, the process was not completely successful and several clones were created after the instability of Al Da Flaga, Jr.(who would later become known as Rau Le Creuset) became apparent: including Rey Za Burrel and Prayer Reverie. These Newtype cloning experiments were the precursor to Dr. Hibiki's Ultimate Coordinator project which created Kira Yamato in more ways than one, as Hibiki not only used the funding he received from Al Da Flaga, Sr. in creating Kira, but possibly, Al Da Flaga's Newtype DNA itself (Kira experiences Newtype flashes in Gundam SEED Destiny).
Al, Sr. brought Al, Jr. to his mansion, announced him as his new successor, and had him educated in the ways of the social elite but as time passed Al, Jr. noticed that he was just a clone and experienced a mental breakdown. Al, Jr. set fire to the mansion and escaped. Al Da Flaga, Sr. died in that fire; Mu La Flaga survived. Al, Jr. would then assume the name Rau Le Creuset, move to PLANT, and join the ZAFT military. The other clone, Prayer Reverie would go his separate way: Prayer Reverie would join up with the Junk Guild and die due to unknown causes. But he actually faked his own death, to let his nemesis, Canard Pars change his life for the better.
