Islah is the debut studio album by American rapper Kevin Gates. It was released on January 29, 2016, by Bread Winners' Association, Atlantic Records and Dead Game Records.[1][2] The album was supported by five singles: "Kno One", "La Familia", "The Truth", "Really Really" and "2 Phones".

Islah received acclaim from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from critics, the album received an average average score of 81 based on 10 reviews, which indicates "universal acclaim".

Commercial performance

The album debut at number 2 on the Billboard 200, collecting 112,143 equivalent album units with 90,000 copies sold in the first-week in the United States.[7] As of April 4 2016, Islah has sold 366,333 (210,710 pure album sales) copies domestically.

Singles

His official debut single, titled "Kno One" was released on July 9, 2015. The song was produced by IKENNA FuNkEn and the production team The Featherstones.

The album's second single, titled "La Familia" was released on September 3, 2015. The production was handled by Mxllzy. The album's third single, titled "The Truth" was released on September 3, 2015. The production was handled by Rvssian.

The album's fourth single, titled "Really Really" was released on October 5, 2015. The song was produced by Alex Goose, Cook Classics and Jake Troth. The song peaked at number 59 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The album's fifth single, titled "2 Phones" was released on November 5, 2015. The production was handled by Mad Max. The song was Gates first top 40 hit, peaking at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100.

A bonus track, "Jam" was released on January 29, 2016. The song features guest vocals from American recording artists Trey Songz, Jamie Foxx and Ty Dolla $ign, while it was produced by Micah Powell. A promotional single, "Excuse Me" was released on January 29, 2016. The production was handled by Ray Real.
