"Superstar" was the second single from U.K. R&B star Jamelia's second album Thank You. The song, released in the U.K. on 15 September 2003, was a sleeper hit, entering the U.K. top 10 at #8 but as airplay, videoplay and the general awareness of the track increased, after a month on the U.K. singles chart, the track climbed to a peak of #3. "Superstar" became the 26th biggest selling single of 2003, the first appearance for Jamelia in the official chart of the year. The single has been certified Silver in the U.K. by the BPI, spending 20 weeks on the official UK singles chart, over double that of her previous biggest hit, "Money".
"Superstar" also saw worldwide chart success including charting at #1 in Australia and New Zealand along with top 20 positions in over 10 other countries.
