The Scania N-series is a series of low-floor city bus chassis with straight-up, transversely mounted Euro IV or newer engine at the rear, built by Scania since 2006, replacing the Scania N94 as in production.
It is available as N UB (N230UB, N270UB, N280UB)[1] two-axle single-decker bus, N UA articulated bus, as well as the N UD (N230UD, N270UD) two-axle double-decker bus. The double-deck variant is mainly built for use in the United Kingdom, and is available with Optare OmniDekka, Optare Olympus and Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodywork, it could also be fitted with Scania's own bodywork and sold as the OmniCity.
In October 2016, Reading Buses will take delivery of five gas powered N280UDs.[2]
