The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Template:Lang-ms) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is the main hospital for the city and the whole Sabah. It is named after the Queen Elizabeth II of United Kingdom.

History

The first hospital building was built in 1957, a second in 1981, this has since been demolished, 2009, and replaced with a new one.[1]

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, built 1981, used unwashed sea sand in the concrete mix. This caused early failure of the concrete, with 74% of 94 samples failing a chloride test[2].
