Gheorghe Mironescu (18741949) was a Romanian politician, member of the National Peasants' Party, who served as a Prime Minister of Romania for two terms.

In 1930, Charles II of Romania returned incognito to Romania (with a false passport). On the morning of June 7 1930, the Government convened Parliament in order to cancel the act of January 4 1926, by which Charles had renounced the throne. Charles was proclaimed the new king. Prime Minister Iuliu Maniu resigned and a new National Peasants' Party government was formed, led by Gheorghe Mironescu, which restored Charles II to the throne on June 8 1930; on the evening of the same day Mironescu resigned in order for the king to name the government.
